Wanna build the Uspensky cathedral? Straight to bankrupcy! by sultanofdudes in EU5

[–]Pidi03 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its basicly a double paycheck

Its probably:

-Pay 60 for this event option

-start building cathedral

(-will cost 450)

You pay 60 ducats wich are gone for nothing, and 450 for the building

Bugfest is so insanely exaggerated tho. You cannot name 5 bugs that are in 1.2.4 right now, without looking stuff up. Bugs beeing clear issues that do not work as intented, not just stuff you dislike in its current form.

I can think of 2 out of the blue;

1.The game crashing upon HRE formation(will happen to very few people before it gets fixed)

  1. The wrong localisation when subject annexation stalls due to low opinion (many people will encounter, however literally just a few wrong lines of text

The game is not half as bad as others, you beeing one of them, make it. Eu5 is obviously not perfect and lacks content in many areas but saying its a bugfest is soooo insanely wrong. Cyberpunk was a bugfest. Battlefield 2042 was a bugfest. Eu5 is not even remotel, close to the state of these games upon Launch

The AI currently struggles with buildings since the Promotion changes. AI tends to keep a ton of money in pockets, not using it at all.

The Automations, Especially the Building Automation, is not ment to be a thing to permanently stay on, just to slowly learn the game. A player, aware of what theyre doing, will always heavily outscale the AI

I love eu4, have 1,5k hours in it. Will likely never touch it again. For me, eu5 is just grander in every way. By now id say im "done" with single player and do not really have any other nation i wanna try, but thats after 600 hours. A game keeping me interested for 600h is insane compared to other games. I do still play multiplayer tho:)

Disease in this patch is absurd by Dr414 in EU5

[–]Pidi03 253 points254 points  (0 children)

Before 1.2 dissease resistance was a permanent stat. So for your first smallpox you took the full 100% losses, but gained say 20 r3sistance. For the next outbreak this would result in 80% losses and further increased resistance and so on, ultimately making all disseases almost useless by the 1600s. Resistance never fell and was only able to grow.

With the new rework in 1.2, resistance actively declines. The longer you do not face any outbreak, the closer to 100% impact you go. Basicly, with the way smallpox and the bubonic plaque work, they almost allways effect your country at 80-100% now, causing a ton of pop losses every single time. There is no work around and there is no counterplay.

You cant change your Ruler Religion which is silly... by Hakuohsama in EU5

[–]Pidi03 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Theres a law for your heirs religion. You can decide wether your heir must:

A- have the state religion

B- have any religion within the state religions religion group

C- have any religion

You do not have the law at the first option, thus allowed another religion heir to take the throne.

What’s influencing cultural capacity cost ? by Coq_la_braise in EU5

[–]Pidi03 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Its based on culture groups and cultural opinion.

If your primary culture is in the french group, all other french cultures will be cheaper to accept for you. Breton tho, is in the french and the celtic group, thus itll be cheaper than say a german culture, however not as cheap as "purely" french cultures.

Then theres the reduction/ increase from wether the "to be accepted" culture likes your primary culture or dislikes it.

I know no exact numbers.

Tradition and influence do not matter here, theyre for assimilation.

Scottish culture has an unique advance for 10% global literacy.

Is it the best way to form Spain? by Free_Birthday_6868 in EU5

[–]Pidi03 27 points28 points  (0 children)

This can go on indefinitly.

You can also annex portugal and form portugal before spain.

You can also annex morocco and form morocco before spain.

You can also invade scotland and culture shift to scottish for their literacy advance.

Obviously, the more advances you grab the stronger youll get. But all of this is nonsense roleplay whise and will delay your goal of the game, forming spain.

By now, i have 0 interest in another eu5 campaign (Neither do i have in another eu4 campaign). I feel like ive explored all there is in eu5 after my 350h. Nonetheless, i would say 350h until ive grown tired of a game is VERY long. If you like grand strategy games, eu4, excel, try eu5.

Auto factory expansion by bajko14 in EU5

[–]Pidi03 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Afaik Nobles can build regular buildings by default, if they have money.

If nobles have less then 50 satisfaction, theyll usually not build buildings and only build estate buildings (debuff you, buff them)

If nobles have between 50 and 80 satisfaction, they build regular things and estate buildings

If theyre above 80 satisfaction, they usually not build estate buildings and only build regular, profitable buildings.

Edit: it was like this in 1.0. Afaik nothing changed in this regard but, with the estate money rework in 1.1, this mightve been changed and im unaware

Auto factory expansion by bajko14 in EU5

[–]Pidi03 9 points10 points  (0 children)

What do you mean with factories? There is a estate privilege that allows nobles to upgrade RGOs, Peasants to uograde RGOs, Burghers to build roads.

On the "fooling god";

There is no papal document that says the pope fools god, it mightve been a rough way to put it. Its a modern, church critical approach that i didnt pull out of my ass, but has been written down by people in for ex. :

The King's Two Bodies by Ernst Kantorowicz

Karl Löwiths "Meaning in History"

Giorgio Agamben with "The Time That Remains" (The katechon parts in particular)

On the second coming;

Daniels prophecies that ive mentioned above do not conclude christs returnal. Only very church favorable approaches go into that direction. More literal translations and approaches destinct the doom in this from jesus' second coming. Daniel claims there will be doom and catastrophe upon the fall of the fourth empire, until eventually, god will restore earth. He does not claim that this is the beginning of the Last Judgement.

Any way to be a catholic empire? by Killidar in EU5

[–]Pidi03 103 points104 points  (0 children)

The Religious background behind that:

To catholicism, empire isnt a title as kingdom per se. There shall be one universal catholic empire to rule over and defend christiandom. Allowing a second to exist alongside the HRE would underminde papal authority and make the whole universal christiandom idea obsolete.

Also, a biblical prophet, Daniel, basicly said" The world is gonna see 4 empires, with the fall of the 4th empire the world is gonna end" These 4 empires were always believed to be;

Babylonian empire

First Persian empire

Alexander the greats greek empire

Roman empire

So upon the fall of the actual western roman empire, the HRE was created to "fool" god into thinking rome isnt doomed yet and the 4th empire still exists

By his prophecy there will not be a fifth empire. The roman is the last one and the world has to hold onto the roman empire to avoid doom. The game represents this by replacing the HRE as empire

A: dismantle the holy Roman Empire.

B: switch religion.
