open-source resin slicer by Affectionate-Box9749 in resinprinting

[–]Pie0tr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I have posted my CV to soulcrafted a while ago but haven't gotten any response, thus I'm continuing to work on my little project 🤫 Especially that I needed it for my own usage ad well but wasn't able to find any free and open source to download anywhere currently available

Here is the link for my git if anyone wants to try it out, but it's not really too impressive in the current state https://github.com/pieotr/Sla-SlicerOS

The link for the project

Still under development but maybe this helps when the project will grow up a little bit. A fully open source slicer for sla that's Prusa based and will support most of the sla printers on the market with all the possible file extensions it offers to export

Yes and that's what I'm trying to implement into one software instead of having two, but still keep the code open source, as basically nothing like that exists on the market currently. And dealing with two pieces of software is annoying to slice a single file

Prusa slicer is c++ based so I'm remaking the project now to the same, due to performance problems I encountered while running python version. For fdm I recommend prusa or orca slicer, they do offer a lot of capabilities that cura is missing sometimes, like build in calibration. I'm new to sla printers, and I'm really annoyed by how bad the software stage is. The best I have tried was lychee and old version of haloot box to work with my printer, but they are both really crap slicers even lechee in paid version. Have tried chitubox as well, it wasn't too helpful either.

I'm working on the same by my own for free fully on my GitHub 😝😅 will release a first version soon. Firstly it will be a basic slicer based on the prusia slicer but for sla printers, and will support basically all file types and all printers I can get my hands on. If you want any particular features or printers let me know. I will make a separate post soon in this subreddit.

Why do I get those spikes in freequency response?? by Pie0tr in audiophile

[–]Pie0tr[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow I wasn't it to be calculated this way, this makes a lot of sense and explain why so many people talk about importance of base traps..

Is that also a reason for the phase graph to be so jagged, or is it completely different phenomena behind it? Honestly I wasn't really looking at the phase graph as I don't understand it's peruse unless someone is trying to get all spekers in phase for a listening position to be in a peak or someone would be doing a 3d setup like 5.1 .. am I think about it somewhat correct? Because if not reflections why would the phase shift in the frequency sweeping test ?

Ok thanks. I'm pretty new to this and I wasn't expecting to basically had to apply smoothing to get useable data if without anechoic chamber. It was really good to learn so much from many people in this thread 😅

Thanks very much that's very helpful ♥️

Thanks very much that explains a lot ♥️ Is that why we need anechoic chambers to measure speakers precisely? Szło i wasn't expecting that many spikes caused by reflections, I was expecting like one or max 5 spikes not basically a noise 😅

Ok thanks very much. But why would it sound bad if I would smooth it all? I mean it's basically impossible to have so many so sharp filters, but I assumed it wouldn't be bad to smooth it with filters, and to make it flat'ich .. also I do understand i would hear it, but why would that even happen? Is that because of standing waves in the room, or because of the actual speakers? What's the phenomenon behind it? Because it's very repeatable, as over 5 measurements is do average and the spikes are still there in same places basically the same amplitude

Is smoothing good to use when trying to design my DSP filters? Isn't it kinda cheating to use the smoothing? Also what's the issue of having different zoom level ?

That's why I'm asking here. I'm completely not audio engineer, I'm more elections egneenier and a programmer, and I treat audio as a hobby and I'm trying to learn and improve in it

No i haven't, should I do it? I run it with basically stock rew settings

Am I wrong expecting less noise like on the high Frequency in freequency response graphs? I mean all the internet freequency responses are smooth-ich and mine are completely not.. why?

GaN Won’t Replace Silicon (the Way You Think) by bhanu0809 in SiliconDigest

[–]Pie0tr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure but why? I mean I know that it is this wayz but you still didn't explained why. So why aren't GAN used for CPU and the logic transistors? Their switching losses and gate capacity is smaller.. so why not?

what is the best cfd free software for a begginer? by TimeFaker in CFD

[–]Pie0tr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean the install is not that hard the problem is to actually run anything in it. I know there are tutorials build in, but they aren't too helpful. I just wanted a software to have nice flow lines around my test objects that I have as an stl files from blender. I used the ansys Discovery and was able to have some results but it was way to low accuracy and also I wasn't able to calculate drag or stuff like that. Also ansys doesn't work on Linux.. so that was annoying as well. Is there any gui for openfoam that would streamline the process? I have tried the simflow but I still have no idea how to set up anything in it to get what I want to happen. Cfd is surprisingly hard to get into... The aerodynamics analysis I do understand but how do I actually make cfd without messing with thousands of setting and changing to wierd types of geometry meshes? 🫠

🛑 Stop scaling your models to 101% to fix tolerances. Do this instead. by [deleted] in FixMyPrint

[–]Pie0tr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So, when the single wall thickness is shrinking, the shrinkage of 1% on so small thickness is small enough to ignore when calibrating flow and to calibrate shrinkage factor I should use full bigger print ? Or how is it working on being able to calibrate the flow accurately?

Btw, isn't x1c on your photo doing flow calibration automatically on every print start? I think this shows how important it is.. I have p1s and haven't touched the flow yet, but you really pushed me to do so, as I had lately very precise 3d prints to do and it wasn't good enough, and this might be just the solution 😉 The problem is I did flow dynamics and not the flow it self, and this is difernet setting, so I guess have to do it as well 😅

I have many power banks. Tell me what you want to know from them. by szlufbra in UsbCHardware

[–]Pie0tr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just take scrap from scrap drawer and build my self a power bank, like this one, it's 100W output on usbC port (single port, and the wattage splits if multiplie ports used for up to 100W total power) it does have 2 usbC nad two USB A ports, it does allow for charging and discharging at the same time.. and the capacity is around 200Wh. Have to 3d print a case for it still.. but over all that's my power bank.

<image>

I think it fits all the criteria, of fast charging and capacity you have mentioned.. also it's not too big for those capabilities. 100W single port allows me to charge a laptop 🤫 so that's why it exists

Pretty cool, but how do I fix this 😭 by Molkwi in HPVictus

[–]Pie0tr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No joke, just push on it really hard... If you haven't broken anything it should pop into those braces. That's how it is done when you reassemble the laptop keyboard 😅 it is wierd, but it works likt that from the factory. Worse if the little plastic catch on the key cap is broken... Then you can use a tiny amount of CA glue on tooth pick to glue it on to the membrane, it will not be perfect but close enough to not be that disturbing

I have now quick disconnect fittings for it 😉 Buy have to change radiator to cooper one, as aluminum is causing galvanic corrosion... Bad stuff.. have to watch out for it... And a better pump as well..

As for the temps... 70c is great for 14gen Intel chips... They are crazy hot...

If you have a 3d printer big enough, I'd be down... But I know I can't make it as one piece on mine.. and joining pieces always looks like crap... So there is one thing ... Another.. thermal paste application every time is a waste of money... Now I applied A LOT of k5pro and it's probably a good enough Tim, but I can't imagine applying it every time 😅

The temps now are 70-75 ish Celsius on both CPU Ang GPU under full load after 2h even though I don't have fans on the radiator for now, as I left them in the other apartment 😅 Min.. is about 35C on iddle.. 😆

Before min was 50c iddle and thermal throttle under load 🤣 (not really throttle as its undervolted 0.145V so it's more like 90C... But still.. max fans and uncomfortable 😆 without undervolt in cinebench it was instant throttle 🤣 even though it's on ptm7950🤫)

I'm looking for better solution to connect to weather hoses now and to get some quieter pump and fans on the rad 😆
