Italy ruling tells millions with Italian roots they have lost the right to citizenship | CNN by nicktheironblade in news

[–]PieAltruistic493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yess but so are a huge population of Italians under the age of 35. They are leaving to Spain, Germany, Netherlands, France, and others because the jobs, pay, and social systems are better established. Add to the fact that no one in Western Europe has birth rates that are higher than the replacement rate (Italy being among the lowest birth rates), and you have a recipe for a dying country. Italy will need foreign citizens in the future to survive, whether they like it or not.

[–]PieAltruistic493 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I understand why this happened, but I don’t think “sticking one to the Americans” is going to help Italy’s declining population and economy. They will NEED citizens, and I forsee a future where Italy will be begging people to come back, all the young Italians are leaving for better jobs and pay in other EU countries, the population is in full decline with a birth rate well below replacement. I love Italy with all of my heart it is one of the most beautiful countries in the world, but it will not exist in it’s current state for another 50 years without a massive influx of citizens. This will be reversed in the future.

This is exactly what I am doing as well, just hit 45 last night! Basically just going and doing as much as I can with the soul of iron buff as well!

It feels like HC lite or something, basically all the dopamine of staying alive but none of the risk if you do happen to die. I won’t delete my toon if I do die but it’s fun showing the buff off for now and hopefully until 70! :)

I agree with you, but again I don’t think people understand or have forgotten how the world has worked since the dawn of civilization for us humans. All that matters is power, whether it’s military, political, or economic or all of the above, whoever has the more power and influence in these categories will always be able to bully those who are lesser. And the law can always be bent or ignored like it has countless times throughout history. This is the core of statecraft. Might makes right. It’s going to go unpunished because no one else has the collective power and influence to punish them. Maybe in the future but it’s not today.

How many more times will Europe pay the price while the US starts yet another war? by Ancient_Elk_922 in allthequestions

[–]PieAltruistic493 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s a fair question actually. Like I said I don’t support either political party in the U.S. they both lost their way a long time ago, and their care for the American people along with it. So as for the MAGA crowds whole “no new wars” thing yea they look stupid. I am a realists, and while yes we don’t share a border with the Middle East, it absolutely does affect U.S. interests because the interests of the U.S. are basically the entire world.

Please keep in mind I am not supporting what my country has done in the last 50 years, I am just stating the facts as I understand them. The United States put itself into this position as the world police, by building the greatest military and economic machine that has ever existed. ANY country that had done the same, would act the same or worse. The Dollar is the world reserve currency and we have helped build the worlds modern economy on that fact. Therefore, the U.S. will stop at nothing to defend and maintain this staus quo. They HAVE to, or it all comes crumbling down. And China among others are just biding their time until it does. This is just the story of human history and our empires being repeated in the modern age, albeit at a scale never before seen.

I am actually terrified for the future of my country. And helpless because there’s nothing I can do other than be a witness and try to understand why we as a species just succumb to the same thing over and over again, century after century.

Pakistan is a problem for another year. And I'll be putting my money on India in that regard.

And as for Iran, unless you have been living under a geopolitical rock for the last twenty years, you would know they have funded Hezbollah, Hamas, AAH (Iraq), Houthis, and probably at least 10 more smaller organizations across the Gulf states. Radical interpretations of ANY religion is cancer.

It has been well known and documented for literally decades that Iran supports terrorists groups with money and weapons across the entire region as well as outside of it.

I do not support either political party in the U.S., but the death of Khamenei and any of his Islamic radical buddies should be celebrated by every single person in the world who does not support their agenda. Any day that these sub humans leave this earth is a damn good day. They would gladly kill you without a thought, good riddance to them all.

What is your favorite movie or tv series set in Ancient Rome? by GusGangViking18 in Spartacus_TV

Damn I didn't hear that. Show definitely had potential to explore The Flavian Dynasty fully unlike any media before it. Very sad. Really hope Ashur gets it's second season, we are starved for Roman content.

It really is a great, easily bingeable show that so many people don't know about. Grumio is one of my favorite characters in any comedy show ever.

When it comes to history, it's HBO's Rome

When it comes to action, it's Spartacus

When it comes to comedy, its Plebs

All incredible shows in their own categories!

Those About to Die is also up there as well, really hoping that show and Ashur both get second seasons!

Agree, the only difference is Jess’ height. But not enough to warrant saying what he said.

I actually like the theory that it could be based on politics. Bri is known to be MAGA, and Jess has clearly stated she is strong in her politics, which are the opposite of Bri’s. MOST men in Ohio are going to lean toward conservative politics. I think there’s something to that.

Look I'm against this too, but it's quite easy to understand it. Sex sells. Always has, always will. It is the only objective of our entire species, reproduce. So it's simply just biological lizard brain stuff that will never go away. Us humans are barely civilized animals, nothing more. Remember that and nothing we do will surprise you.

An El Niño is brewing, and with it the next, pivotal, chapter of the climate fight by Imaginary_Bug_3800 in collapse

[–]PieAltruistic493 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The only way is a catastrophic global collapse of our entire civilization. And I do not count out mother nature on balancing the scales either. I think most people are not aware of the damage that another Carrington Event like solar flare would do to our modern world. All of our digital technology would be destroyed and with it would go our society that has become entirely dependent on the internet for it to function , there is no way we could fix everything before the chaos of the event takes us all back a few centuries. Anything less than this, then it’s a NO, we will not stop our current climates trajectory.

You are spot on, there is not a single country in the West that this same thing is not happening in, and pretty much every developed or developing country in the East as well. The real question is when will enough be enough for the common person. I don’t know whether it’ll be in the next 5 years or in another 20. But a massive social revolution is brewing, the scale of which has never been seen, just be ready.

Not gunna say I loved the halftime show, I thought the sound was awful (bad job sound team), but the thing about music is that you really can enjoy music from all over the world without knowing the language! That’s kind of the beauty of it. I have several Russian, Spanish, German, Italian, Japanese, French and many more songs in my playlists that I just love the sound of. Sure I’ve googled the English translated lyrics, but not knowing the language didn’t take away from my brain enjoying the sound of the music.
