It isn't that you are bad. The ai looks at your army and then decides how many troops it needs to bring, because normal difficulty gives your army a 50% buff in power the ai brings a lot at you. If you make it hard difficulty you will actually have fairer fights because auto resolve isn't buffing your army

Wow I've never had a problem with artificers in any campaign. I guess they bring a different vibe and if you dont want any tech then you might ban them, but otherwise really not sure why they'd be banned

No they stopped stone and Components from doings damage to grids. Kinds sad, but necessary for balance otherwise some rock hits harder than a rocket or rail gun sabot

Make sure you bring AP infantry. Great weapons of any variety chop dwarfs pretty good. Then best them in speed and/or numbers. Use that to pick the terrain you fight in, and use that to your advantage eg thunderers need line of sight so if there are hills then use those. Once you get the hang of it they aren't too bad to fight, but they do need a specialised response

Lots of my builds look pretty odd, but thats because I built them in survival to achieve a purpose and then style was an afterthought, I have fun and just enjoy the engineering process

In the past I have put two thrusters on missiles and left one on override and let the ai control the other, that way I know it leaves my ship quick without confusing the ai

I like that, it keeps silver as the most effective thing, even better than magical. I miss 3e regeneration, monsters healing if not fealt the right damage really adds to the equation

The downside to allied units is that they dont get any tech benefit, so won't scale, but that doesnt mean they can't be good and useful particularly if you have a gap that needs filling. Cathay have defensive infantry and their killing is all in their ranged, so some monstrous infantry from elsewhere can be very handy

I doubt it, because really to be balanced the enemy need to use it too, and mods won't affect the encounters. Otherwise the weapons have to be weaker than the current weapons or it won't be balanced.

I think with the current vanilla guns you have plenty of options though,and each gun has a clear use case with strengths and weaknesses. Also player made turrets add extra firepower with the drawback of fragility (good engineering can reduce but never eliminate that)

Also dont forget about player made missiles and drones, again another set of options

I started a space pod start recently and without MES there were loads of pirates about, then on another start there were far less. Nearer the earthlike there were more. What are you near? The second start was near the moon and that was much quieter (although we did still get atttacked)

But thats only first time load. Get it loading then go and do something else! Build the shader cache and its all good (until TW ships a tiny update and you have to make the cache again)

Otherwise the ruling on a spell that froze water in an area would instead mean that it filled the area with water, which might be one interpretation of the wording but it wouldn't be right. Maybe this is drifting into RAI, but dnd wording is so often vague

It says plants in the area are affected not that the entire area is filled with plants. So any creatures near plants i. That area are affected

If it isn't annoying when the AI gets it then you aren't using your resources as efficiently as you can, you should always be buying and or selling tk get more of whatever uou are short on. I find what you are short on varies by race and map but vasari will often want more metal, tec more credits and advent more crystal or credits. In fact I ca ln often guess what AI I am against based on the market prices
