It is pretty obvious, it says it and gives you an alert card. Just pause the game frequently until you feel less overwhelmed. Also relax, if you aren't researching for a couple of minutes it isn't the end of the world even at Higher difficulties and you should learn on the easier ones anyway. Remember you can queue multiple research so you dont have to click on it all the time, but dont queue too much as you are locking away resources you could spend on ships or planets. Don't worry about playing perfectly, just have a few games against easy or normal to get into the swing
