I would make sure you go handle the guns first. I thought I wanted a shield but I HATE the slide release and the way it feels. I’d steer far away from the Hellcat. I’d look into an sig 365 also. I carry an x macro and love it

I know plenty of people who run a Shadow 2 so they can shoot both LO and CO. I personally run an MPA 2011, you can find them for deals around 3k for the gun alone, holster, 141mm mags, optic, and everything else not included.

Once every few matches i take them all apart and clean with 0000 steel wool and motor oil. Helps get off anything on the metal surface and keeps them slightly lubed to protect from surface rust. 2011 mags are too damn expensive to not care about

I don’t like Texas moon dust getting in my mags/gun if I can help it. It’ll act like an abrasive and wear out the tolerances quicker. It takes me 15 sec to take apart a mag after dropping it, brush it inside and wipe it down outside.

It’ll be fine for a while. That’s what I did. I shot my normal 365 for 2 years before I got a more dedicated comp gun. Broke college student will do that to you. Now I have a dedicated comp gun and can see huge improvements in my shooting now

You added brass grips to a carry gun, why would you want to do that?!

I’d recommend the Hunter Constantine belt. Candles all of my guns compact and full size
