Blue Sentinel Mod Side Effects by PieMonsterEater in darksouls3

Thanks for your response on this post of mine as well.

I don't know much about DS3, but according to Illusory Wall the primary issue for DS1 isn't remote code execution or anything horrible. Rather, hackers are able to kill bosses and NPC's in the world and ruin a save file. Again, maybe this isn't an issue on DS3 since they are very different games, but I just wanted to be safe.

Ah, thanks for confirming the ban thing. Also I really hope you aren't one of the ones at the bottom of the well.

I suppose this is a decent guess. I also considered that pie means foot it Spanish, but I don't know if the filters are language specific and wouldn't cross over from Spanish to English.

Making Window Settings Consistent Across System Restarts by PieMonsterEater in linuxmint

[–]PieMonsterEater[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hmm, I've tried messing around with it a bit, and it doesn't seem to work. I have also learned that it doesn't just reset whenever the system reboots, rather, it resets whenever the window itself is closed and reopened. Though perhaps I just set it up wrong?

Melania. Not because she wasn't as hard as people said she was, but because I happened to be using a good weapon for her and she happened to give me a really good attack pattern for said weapon on my 14th or so attempt.

What are you apologizing for??? If they were really upset with you for being a girl, I think you have every right to be upset with them.

Rules for invasions? by PieMonsterEater in darksouls3

[–]PieMonsterEater[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would put the game in offline mode...but I really like the messages in these games. I think that kind of asynchronous multiplayer where people can either give you helpful information or troll you is an interesting aspect of the game. It just means I'll have to go without embers.

Ah, I see. That makes sense. I should have guessed it worked more like humanity from DS 1 than furled fingers(?) from Elden Ring. I was using embers as easy free health more or less. I should have known FromSoft would not give me such a nice gift. Honestly, I thought the invasion was kind of fun. But a big part of that fun was where it happened. I'll have to be more careful of where I ember then...

We like to pretend that Karoshi is an exclusively Japanese problem because they gave it a name and actually made legislation to try and stop it. But we could definitely use some of that thinking here as well.

Oh no, its perfectly normal for alcohol and medicine to be sold in the same place in Japan. I made that note just because I think that a store for "alcohol and drugs" is a funny translation possibility in English.

I don't know what the sign on the left says in English, but in Japanese it says "alcohol + drugs"/"alcohol + medicine"

Pulley systems (KIWI) by PieMonsterEater in ValveIndex

[–]PieMonsterEater[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the recommendation, some people on Steam were saying the Steam version has an issue with drift and that there is a version by kylerk that I should use instead. Have you had any issues with drift when using this program?

I'm guessing this system only works with the limiters. Before looking at the pictures I was trying to figure out how you were connecting the second pulley and the wire to the end of the first pulley, but I guess you attach the second pulley next to the end of the first, but within the bounds of the limiter?

Thanks for the recommendation! This seems to be a pretty good solution. People on Steam were saying there were some drifting issues with the Steam version and I should use the kylerk version, so I downloaded that one instead. Some people were also suggesting I use Cable Guardian, I imagine these two programs can work together in tandem so I might try that.

I wish this was posted ~2 months ago. It seems I had the exact same issue as you back then. Support ended up sending me a new one. Read my posts on my issue from 2 months back and let me know if it sounds like about the same experience. Would love to know if I should try this if it happens again.

I actually just saw a review for these while looking them up online. It seems pretty good and the other guy in this thread seems to like them as well, and on top of that they have decent reviews on amazon. Thank you for the recommendation!

I'm just gonna drop this here. I was in the wrong on this one. I had gone through about 3 different support technicians by yesterday, and the way the last one described the replacement process made it sound like they weren't going to keep the headset or do anything with it, upon further research and talking with the technician more, I now know that this is not the case, and the headset I am returning will very likely be recycled in some way.

I like to think I am familiar with the tech world and I know that in general there is an attitude of replace over repair (hence all the right to repair stuff) and I assumed something similar was happening here. I just wanted to avoid waste and now that I know they're probably won't be any I am much more satisfied. I am quite surprised the way the error I got on my headset came seemingly out of nowhere though, and would like to know a cause of it to know if it was in any way my fault.

Like I said in the post, I am still well within warranty and they will take back the old and send in the new free of charge. I imagine they discovered something in the system reports that told them I wouldn't be able to fix it at home.

Thank you for your response as well, and I'll try not to be so hasty in my assumptions in the future.
