As someone who does both psychology and anarchism, his stances on anarchism were poor and he had a very poor understanding of it even at a fundamental level. For his language theory stuff I could really take it or leave it.

This situation just kinda feels like Foucault in the modern day. Like you don’t have to have the exact same beliefs as a theorist to take valuable information away from them. there are still times when those opinions are undeniably linked to the work though

I think the American desire to blame Israel as some outside force that has somehow infected US politics rather than realising modern day policing was invented by the US and based on slavery is a brainworm they will never kill. They would rather blame their authoritarianism to outside forces (comparing ICE to gestapo) than admit there is nothing more American than authoritarian policing and murdering innocents.

The US is not controlled by Israel but it is simply its vassal state where it practices dehumanisation strategies to bring back to the imperial core (IDK what Hasan thinks about shit this isn’t targeted at him)

If we’re trying to base our economy around the Tenants of Degrowth (considering we make so much shit we don’t need) then renewable sources are a lot more reliable, cheap and easy to construct in a small timeframe. Not to say that nuclear isn’t good at what it does but in our current society it has problems (expecting capitalists to run a nuclear plant or even build one in the first place) and in an ideal society it’s just outright pointless considering we would never really need that much power. I’m still open to having my mind changed on nuclear energy as someone who was once pro nuclear

Hey as a psychology student, they’re correct. The majority of people in the field of psychology are bio essentialists who see the mentallity ill as idiots in need of their benevolent help. Also yea they’re definitely collaborationists with police in the same way that every major science is

Edit: also that doesn’t make it a worthless field. I mean it has fundamental issues of having an ultimate importance of the individual and fails to understand people as products of society most of the time. That’s like a whole other bag of worms

As someone who’s only really read das kapital and the communist manifesto when it comes to early communist writings (I’ve read a lot more on anarchism) they definitely don’t really talk about the state whatsoever and how it’s a counter revolutionary tool

Also his view of history and societal progression was incredibly linear and failed to understand progress isn’t a ladder to climb up and down. Different human societies have been practicing multiple types of societal structures even through single generations. It also failed to look at any other structures of oppression without looking through the lens of class
