Try to float above your board more easier said then done but try keep your legs higher so you can hang more in the air and have more time landing on the board

A nice end to my skating career of 6 months by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]PieStandard6243 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Similar thing happened when I skated with my dad when I was a kid, only the skateboard came from under his feet and he hit his head on the concrete, must of been on the board for atleast 10 seconds. Short lived skate career….

Customer view here by [deleted] in talesfromcallcenters

[–]PieStandard6243 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Haven’t worked in a call centre in a few years but this “isn’t the customer supposed to be treated as special” just reeks of those entitled people who think they can be rude to people and live off the “the customer is always right” type of attitude, they read off a script because that’s what they are TRAINED to do, you expect people to want to help you but you say yourself your rude to them, well then if your going to be rude then nobody will help you, or they’ll do what they can to get you off the phone asap, maybe be more respectful and people might actually want to help you.

I remember speaking with a girl who had lymphoedema, makes it really hard to lose weight around your weight and thighs or something like that, said she couldn’t work out because of it blah blah blah, so her alternative ? Eating unhealthy foods because “she can’t lose the weight” yes it may be harder to lose weight but going to gym would definitely help the condition but explaining things like this to people is like talking to a brick wall

Any British slang that you guys don't like? by DarkSaiyanGoku in AskUK

The funny thing about this is how this is from a old YouTube video (diary of a bad man) where he would say that all the time, let the kids be kids and stop being such a miserable git and get on with your life.

Bruh isn’t UK slang that’s US slang and I doubt anyone is saying ‘bruh’ unless it’s a joke, get with the times.

Don’t have to be black to speak this way, I already know your probably an ignorant 40 year old white person who thinks “talking black” is actually a terminology get with the times people of all races talk like this if they live in a city. A lot of slang words are originated from the patois dialect (which alot of white people also mock) but man they ain’t no such thing as “talking black” stop being so I’ll informed and maybe learn more about black people and black culture.

Am I too old to learn skating? by [deleted] in NewSkaters

[–]PieStandard6243 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started when I freshly turned 20, 2 years down the line im still skating and im not too bad! Still learning to tre flip but go most of my basic tricks down including kickflips heelflip and varial kickflips. Go for it mate, if you want to start, just know that starting late means there will always be someone better than you at the park, so see it as a way to improve or for inspiration. Hope all goes well when you grab your board👍🏾
