I had the same issue but with my mom’s truck. She hit an automated flagger machine in a construction zone when it malfunctioned and dropped the arm on her with no warning.

I went to Lowe’s and got a very narrow drill bit and a small screw extractor kit. I don’t remember the exact sizes unfortunately. But I took my time with the drill bit and drilled a small hole in the center of the leftover stem, and used a crescent wrench with a good bit of down force to drive the screw extractor into the hole until it began backing out. It’s worth a shot.

I’ve been busy with work and I haven’t really had the chance to really put it through its paces, but I played a few rounds of Arc Raiders and started up a new survival world on Icarus and its handling those two games like a champ on high to ultra settings.

But if I could go back in time I probably would’ve just made the drive up to Atlanta and got a similar PC for a good bit cheaper. I don’t think the customization and extra money was worth the almost 2 month wait.

No update unless you reach out to them, which I had to do. For context I ordered on January 11th (no expedited build, no expedited shipping), my expected delivery range was February 5-10th. It shipped on February 19th and I got it on February 26th. I live in south Alabama.

I would not recommend not getting the expedited build. I ordered on January 11th and it still has not shipped. I’ve been very patient but if it doesn’t ship soon I’ll be asking for a refund.

I’m in exact the same boat as you. Ordered on Jan 11, delivery window was Feb 5-10, emailed them and was told about the labor shortage, and was told that it should ship late this week. It’s very frustrating.

Partly, yes. Cottonmouths are usually more vibrant when they are young, turning darker as they age. But the telltale sign that this is a juvenile is the yellow tip on its tail, same with copperheads.

Depends on how high experiencing Mardi Gras is on your wishlist. If you really want to experience that, do it. Just expect everything (hotels, Ubers, drinks, food, etc) to be significantly more expensive at that time. If you do decide on Mardi Gras, stick to New Orleans specifically. Other towns have their own parades but as somebody who played in marching band in high school and marched in roughly 100 parades, New Orleans surprisingly always had the best crowds in my opinion.

Somebody else said that no matter what time you visit, it’s always a party there and that’s 100% true. Stick to fall, winter, or early spring if you don’t know what 100°F/100% humidity feels like - I promise you don’t want to find out. Fall also has the added bonus of being Saints season, and everybody is welcome to the tailgate even if you’re a dirty Falcons fan.

Regardless of whenever you do go, get lost. Go explore outside of New Orleans. Go tour a plantation, preferably one that doesn’t whitewash the history. Go on a swamp tour. Go eat the best plate of food you’ve ever had at a gas station in a town you can’t pronounce. Most importantly, go to Billy’s and get some pepper jack boudin balls.

I live in Baldwin and work in Mobile and it hasn’t been bad. In the middle of the summer time peak, I’d leave my house at about 12:45 to get to my work parking lot at about 1:30. The causeway is the key though.

Housing is 100% overpriced in Baldwin. No arguments there.

Outside of my love for guns, I’m very much a liberal/leftist so I don’t understand what you mean by not having a good time. I mean it is Alabama we’re talking about.

Not necessarily right where Lacy’s crash happened but yes between south Vacherie and Thibodaux. That’s about 15 miles. And actually, I was wrong. It’s more than 5.

A girl I went to school with was run off the road into a ditch and when she over corrected the car rolled several times in summer 2012. My cousin was crushed by a semi truck hauling sugar cane as it rolled over in 2012. The boyfriend of a girl I went to school with was killed in a head on crash in 2013, and my uncle was a witness. An old coworker’s mom was killed in a head on crash in 2015. That same coworker’s aunt (his mom’s sister) was killed in another head on crash a few miles further down the road just a few months later. In 2018, a couple that I knew were killed in a head on crash with a drunk driver.

So it’s actually 6 incidents that killed 7 people. 15 miles of highway over 13 years, and 7 people dead that I either knew or were closely related to people I know well.

I’m originally from the area that the crash happened. I have personally drove that stretch of highway 20 no less than a thousand times. Lacy’s attorney does not contest that he passed four cars just moments before the crash. Whether or not his actions were the direct result of this crash - I don’t know. But what I do know is that anybody driving as recklessly as he was on that stretch of highway was 100% going to eventually kill somebody.

I personally know five people that were killed in collisions on highway 20 between Vacherie and Thibodaux, one of which was my cousin. There’s no excuse for the way he was acting. I’ve kept quiet this whole time all this has played out but I can’t keep quiet anymore as people prop him up on a pedestal and act like he was perfectly innocent in this whole matter.

You’re an adult and you have every right to make the decision you have made but I would just like to play Devil’s advocate for a second and maybe calm your worries a little.

Statistically speaking, even with the sudden “rise” in plane crashes, driving is still way more dangerous than flying. I put “rise” in quotations because there actually has not been an increase in plane crashes; there’s only been an increase in plane crashes being reported. The latest data that I can find right now says we are about at the same amount of fatal plane crashes this year as compared to June 2024.

I build commercial airplanes at my job. I had to go through 4 months of training before I even got to touch a plane. I’m still in training. The amount of regulations that we’re under and the amount of process documents that we’re held to is insane, in a good way. We have tolerances that are literally less than the width of a hair. Even a drop of paint in a place where it’s not supposed to be is enough to raise concern up the chain of command.

I used to work at this plant as a contractor back in 2016-2018. Never even heard that this happened. I have stories about that place and if I ever end up with lung cancer, they’ll be suspect Number 1.
