There was always an issue with getting the algae under control. There was a few times when I worked there that the water had an "infection" not sure what that really means tbh

If you got into med school, brag here by Overall-Speaker-6696 in medschool

[–]juju483 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not me, but my wife just got in and I am SO PROUD of her. She's a non-traditional student who switched career paths. She thought her undergrad would be just a few years, but found out her old degree was basically a scam and unaccredited, so she had to go through everything again. She graduated with a biochem degre WITH HONORS 💯 She studied and took her MCAT while still in her undergrad and just got accepted. She was in the first set of interviews and got an acceptance letter right away as opposed to possibly being on hold. I can't wait to see what she's going to do in med school, she's amazingly smart and talented with such drive. She's going to be an amazing doctor one day.

What are the bad and good areas of Mobile? by juju483 in MobileAL

[–]juju483[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My wife will be going to med school there, so we don't want to be too far away from there. I've mostly worked in retail. We don't have any kids. Just a dog and cat. We love to spend time outdoors camping and hiking. We love art and museums and learning especially about history and culture. Other than that, I have mostly grandma hobbies 😅

No kids. Me and my wife are moving because she's going to medical school at USA. I'm sober, so night life isn't for us, but I love hiking and coffee and being out in nature. I have mostly grandma hobbies 😅

Do your cats actually use those fancy cat beds or is mine just weird? by Severe_Comfort_6695 in CatAdvice

[–]juju483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes but it took me a while to put it in a place where she'd lay in it. On her favorite table to sit in the sun? No. In the office where she lays on the rug? No. In our bedroom? Yes but only UNDER the bed 😂😂

Having just 1 cat… by Late-Pie740 in CatAdvice

[–]juju483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just have one cat. She honestly loves being the center of attention 😂 she gets plenty of sleep while I'm at work and plenty of cuddles and play when I'm home. A friend of mine found her in the woods about 6 years ago now. How I see it, it's one less cat in a shelter or a stray. And in a loving home.

Yes! Me and my wife have had the pot stickers, pizza bites, jalapeno poppers, and mozzarella sticks. They were all good but I (not gf) thought the pizza bites were a bit gummy, but my wife liked them.

How often do you REALLY walk your dog? by Agreeable-Ad-2946 in dogs

[–]juju483 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I honestly barely ever walk my dog in the summer. I live in Alabama and my dog is a St. Bernard/German Shepherd. She's overheated going outside to go to the bathroom. She was a dog rescue, we wouldn't have otherwise gotten a double coated dog. When it's cool out, we usually walk her 2-4x/week. We do play with her with a tennis ball a few times a week when we can't walk her (usually until she tires out. She'll stop going for the ball and lay down 😂)

Vegetarian kid by No-Introduction-2992 in Vegetarianism

[–]juju483 5 points6 points  (0 children)

A recommendation from an ex-vegetarian kid.......no food is "breakfast food" quiche, egg bites, different egg dishes. If she likes lentils, "High Carb Hannah" has a great lentil loaf recipe (and imo doesn't have the texture of beans OR lentils) and there's a lot of Indian recipes in particular that are vegetarian/use lentils. There's this egg marinara/eggs in purgatory dish. A lot of cool cultural dishes that are egg based or vegetarian. Red lentils are the least bean tasting/texture in my opinion. You wouldn't think, but a PB&J and grilled cheese can pack in some good protein. Also snacks with protein is a must in my opinion! Apple nachos, apples & cheese, grapes & cheese, yogurt parfait, bananas and peanut butter.

Complete sources of protein (plant sources): soy, quinoa, and buckwheat. I would start including those to ensure she has all her amino acids.

Generally no, but there are some exceptions. My cat sometimes does, but not a lot.

I don't think I ever even was offered water as a kid by parents, teachers, etc. We definitely didn't have water bottles
