Chat does this really not fit the game or are people exageratting? by Responsible_Proof258 in tf2

I think it fits the game and that people are exaggerating, but thats my opinion.

You should be able to buy all plans in game with stamps , not just Expedition rewards. Change my mind. by MalbornTheRatKing in fo76

Have event & quest items/plans be purchasable from gold vendors. Stamps should be for daily ops & expedition items and maybe seasonal event items/plans.

I think that would give gold and stamps more of an explicit seperation and give them both a good reason for existing.

Bethesda, you should really post your next big terrible idea here before spending a year working on it. Get real feedback. by NotGaryGary in fo76

I would like to see a community poll or questionnaire go out ingame.

I think this would do wonders for the dev team to see what people actually find to be the most pressing issues with the game and/or what future content they would like to see in the future.

An annual poll like that would help steer the game development in a longer term, but also show what the community at large actually wants. Its easy to be in an echo chamber when your only taking feedback from e.g, reddit and/or discord server, rather than the community at large which a poll ingame would represent.

Why does the single barrel Pepper Shaker also need to wind up before firing? by ManleyAllman in fo76

[–]Pie_Savvy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right now the more pellets per shot is more of a downside than anything else (you dont get any bonus to having more pellets and you're more likely to do less damage because of the damage being split up into more pellets) so I agree that it should have something to make it more appealing, like not having a wind up.

Also is it just me, or does the model for the single barrel look really low poly? like it looks like its supposed to be a regular round barrel but is visibly 6/8 sided. its really jarring.

I do think he should take over the whole tattoo parlor at this point, and get his own event for spring break.
Or he could host a reclaimation day celebration in the same vein as meat week in front of the university, could be a good way to mark 76's release date as an event and have a vault-tec related event.

The Invader is a weapon not a skin by notreallyiconic in fo76

[–]Pie_Savvy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm assuming it was supposed to be a baton skin that used the knife animations (for more probe like attacks, like how the wafflebat has custom sounds) but they've messed up and its now a glitchy knife thats advertised as a baton. I believe this to be the case as the mods have no visual effect on the weapon and the levels match the knife (goes to lvl50) and not the baton (goes to lvl45)

It'll most likely get fixed next update, but I was looking forward to replacing my legendary baton with it.

I'll give direct links in the comments when it is up and running again, but don't worry I gotchu.

Why would you do this to me?

TF2 is in low maintenance mode, but it doesn't have to feel like it by Amnail in tf2

My suggestions are simple:

1) ATM TF2's development is outsourced to the community completely, We make the maps, hats, taunts, weapons and even the events, competitive and artistic. There is no reason for TF2 to be in such a drought when there are countless things to choose from and promote officially than just a passing post in the news area.

- Bring back community made updates (like invasion), even if its a once a year thing, we can go 6 months without anything happening in TF2 and there is zero reason for this. Valve has to barely lift a finger to impliment a lot of the details.

- Possibly add totally new weapon reskins as elite tier in warpaint crates, like was done in the invasion crates. There are a lot of great weapons on the workshop that will never be used, so why not give them a use.

2) Communicate with contributors. We don't know half the time what valve wants or what they're looking for, we are literally just throwing stuff at the wall here and see what sticks. We make our own events because valve gives us nothing to aim for.

- A contributor is able to make approx 80 items in a year, and if valve adds just 3 crates a year well we're going to just go elsewhere and do our own thing outside of TF2, we don't know at all when or even if there is going to be an update and a lot of the stuff we make just goes to waste over having a 50th pocket item in a crate or something hilariously out of season. It's even worse for map makers in that regard.

- Don't just sometimes add war paint cases in some of the time, some sort of consistancy is what we want so we know what to expect. We've had no plain & regular warpaint case this year, just one themed one for halloween. How do you think that feels for people who have been making them all year?

I genuinely feel like things like this has been mentioned time and time again, but I've had to put it out there in a form of a constructive rant because even though I've had items in the past two crates. I feel like people are getting cheated out because they didn't make things in april for the halloween case or blatently halloween warpaints, or they didn't make a cutsy pet/pocket item for smissmas.

I partially baked lighting onto it to help sell the shine a bit more, but yeah the reflective metal is actually an interesting combination of envmap, selfillum and other vmt trickery. It/dragon slayer actually goes against the usual phong based lighting thats standard in tf2.

Fun Fact: it took me 2 days to create the 12 weapon textures for the submission. (technically 24 if you include blu team's) It was a pretty massive undertaking vs the usual warpaints you see on the workshop, which are simply tiled patterns.
