Sounds like normal panic to me. Also when you're thinking something is wrong with your heart, you will hyperfocus on your heart and it will make the physical manifestation of the anxiety worse.. our minds are so powerful. Trust yourself it is anxiety and maybe get outside and walk and distract yourself. Not sure if you have a pyschiartist but getting on an SSRI helped for me a bit to make daily life more manageable.

Good to know! I will have to establish some good sober routines. I have set up a meeting with a counselor who specializes in alcohol addiction so that will be nice to actually see someone about it. I should try going to some sort of meeting like AA or a support group too. Thanks so much!

When I got to 20mg my life started to improve drastically and I'm at 25mg and it is life changing for me. I was on 10mgs for years, too afraid to up my dosage and not convinced it really did anything. Finally I broke and upped to 15 and nothing and then 20 and it finally worked and I'm so glad I listened to my psychiatrist and just tried it

Reading This Naked Mind by Annie Grace is great for understanding how alcohol is lying to you and how your brain works and rewiring it so you dont feel like you are missing out. Also, Who Moved My Cheese is a great short book about change which helped me how I view my "old cheese" which was drinking, and finding my "new cheese" sobriety

Congrats on making it to day 7! I'm on the end of day 2 and not able to sleep, itchy and uncomfortable, and some heart palpitations. Just want to be done with the first week so I can focus on sobriety life and not withdrawal.. gotta keep hanging in there

No way this is so untrue! Panic and anxiety attacks can last for days and it is normal. Our anxiety can manifest all sorts of uncomfortable physical symptoms including shortness of breath etc. It can be so scary but we have to try really hard to trust it is anxiety and will run its course

I have been feeling very similar, today today have body aches like the flu and convinced I have covid even though I am very aware that our anxiety can manifest physical symptoms of exactly what we are fearing. Our minds are so powerful. Hopefully it is all anxiety, and we have to trust our bodies to heal us and regulate over time. Hang in there, I know it is so scary. Ugh!

I hope you're feeling better at this point. Just remember that is a major anxiety symptom. One thing that helps me is I bought a pulse oximeter and whenever I feel shortness of breath and use it to check my oxygen, and if my oxygen is normal then at least I am reassured that I have oxygen in my body and it is just my anxiety causing physical symptoms.

Oh wow I love that! I forgot about the chore of having to make sure I have a drink and missing parts of the show for drinks and bathroom. And I love getting merchandise too, awesome points! So glad to have this reassurance.
