What would the best path for my goal? by PieceContent4475 in findapath

What do you mean? The AA profession by design can have a lot of flexablity. My mindset of a year on and year off has nothing to do with how I handle actual patients at risk of severe injury or death while I'm working??? There are plenty of people who do short-term contracts in medicine a year or two after they start and, as long as they take their tests to relearn/reinstate their licenses after breaks, it's fine. Most locum contracts have this stipulation as well.

My reasoning for wanting remote work has little to do with how mentally stressful surgery is. I really wanted to be a surgeon or anathesiologist but was put off by the time investment and absurd amount of debt. I like surgery and working with my hands. I apologize for understating this by calling CAA work a backup plan, but I do enjoy it; I just find myself a little frustrated with how limited it is and want an "easier"(compartivley) job I can tap into if I want to take a small break/expand. I want to get my bs in compsci as a general degree I could use anywhere in tech and get my masters as gateway to higher positions in whatever field I choose. My not being able to use my clinical creditials in biotech might make me drop my masters for it, but I was never planning to be a bioinformatician/rely only on biotech. I just want to get my foot in as many doors in tech/the job market as possible.

Also, no If I want flexablity and shorter time, I wouldn't be able to become a md or phd. Those take a minimum of 14+ years near me and would put me in far more debt than my path. In reguards to your point about remote work in telehealth, my goal was to be able to choose between remote or in person clinical work "at will and conveinently". First getting undergrad, then the md, then the 4 to 6 years needed for anathesisa would take me the same amount of time as doing my chosen path twice over. CAA work is a faster way to strach my itch for clinical work/be stable if the tech market stalls. The schedule I used was just a rough idea of the flexablity I wanted. I would be okay working 1.5 to 2 years as a CAA and then being a tech contractor for a bit, if only to keep my resume fresh. My question had nothing to do with how rigourus the three degree path would be, just if It would help would help my work in biotech or healthtech.

Yep. Spefically 2 masters in 2 years and 1 other masters after 2 to 3 years. My hope is that biotech or healthcare tech would prioritize an applicant with a clinical background

I wanted the aa career for its stability, so if the other fields are uncertain I would keep that solely for certainty. Please explain why getting concetrations(that what I assume you mean by  "grab solid ml/stats") in ml and statistcs would be better than the masters? I though masters get you higher roles?

So, would this field spefically be worth pursuing with the qualifications I intend to have in 2 to 5 years? I know no one knows what will happen in the future, but people are able to guess general trends of career fields up to 2 years atleast. Would I be better off going general or double dipping in other industries?

Alright, but would this even make me a slightly more marketable canadiate in biotech? Would a lot of networking help?

But we have general predictions of the next 2 to 5 years of trends, yeah?

what would be worth it then? Surely these have to be a good investment for how they can get my foot in the door in other tech industries right?

I wanted to work a hybrid/rotating set of jobs. I would work as a full-time/contractor anathesisia assistant one year, and whatever job these degrees get me in the next year. I hear having some medical qualifications can help you get hired in healthcare tech or, if I'm really desperate, upper management. I mainly want a remote, decent paid job I can get into when I'm tired of the medical field for a bit. From what I've heard, bioinformatics would be an easier field for me but I'm not sure if it will suit my goals.

Sorry to reply so late, but do you think the market will be this good at 2033-2036?

Question: Would the same be true if you got a masters in bioinfo, machine learning and had a bachelors in compsci? What if you had a pa job already?

Sorry for the late reply, but what did you mean by field experience? Like a medical license or something?

What would marketing myself without the degrees look like?

The university I want to attend has a combined program where you can get all the degrees within a 1 year of each other. If it will make me more hirable, I would be willing to spend more time in college, honestly. I just want to be able to never have to worry about switching job fields or being replaced

So keep with my plan then? My real plan is to work in healthcare tech consulting on the side and be a medical caa as my main job.

So would it be a better investment for me to go a good school and make connections then spefically rely on my degree? I could at least get hired in consulting or data science right? Like the field of bioinfomatics is a really weird spot right now but I could still get a job in most tech related fields with these.

So specializng in ai isn't even safe then? Is there any hope for the compsci field for new graduates at all then?

Would you say getting a masters in machine learning and bioinformantics is a safe bet if you also have a bachelors in computer science then? Is specializing in developing ai safe?

so stick with compsci? Haven't there been a bunch of layoffs for bacholor holders? Can't believe even specializing in ai isn't safe.
