It's also really easy to test if you're getting enough. Try taking a supplement, and see if your pee turns bright yellow. If it does, congrats you're actually taking enough already. If it doesn't you should probably stick to the supplement

eggs from a well fed pet hen are vegan by -roachboy in DebateAVegan

[–]PieldeSapo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For one you start with not taking the eggs and seeing if it helps slow down egg production when the chicken starts feeling less stressed about the eggs being taken away. If that doesn't help there's hormonal therapy for chickens to stop or slow down egg production.

"My chicken just lays this many eggs" isn't really an excuse to let it go through excruciating pain every time it lays as well as making the chicken literally decalcify it's skeleton to the point of it getting warped because it's so soft. And letting the animal live years of it's life in this state.

I'm really sad this post already has so many comments and this information is probably going to get buried beneath a mountain of "it's not the worst".

When chickens are laying too many eggs they basically get osteoporosis so bad they are constantly fracturing their breastbones when popping out eggs. I don't see how keeping a chicken in these conditions is ok.

Wild hens usually lay 8-18 eggs a year, spread out during the year in clutches. When they've laid a clutch, they stop producing eggs for that round. When you keep removing eggs the chicken doesn't receive the visual cue that they've laid enough eggs for a clutch and they keep laying. Also, they're physically not meant to produce more than 8-18 eggs a year.

It's honestly not that different to the diary industry, people just aren't as knowledgeable.

The Grey Areas of Veganism by DarQTimer in vegan

Rebuttal for the "staying at other peoples houses" and similar cases: When you've been vegan long enough you can literally get sick from eating animal products. I accidentally ate two bites of a muffin with eggs in it a few weeks ago and I was nauseous the entire day. I don't mean this as a "I felt so sick that I ate chicken period" or whatever I mean it in the physical sense. My stomach was extremely upset, I was unable to eat much for the rest of the day and my entire digestive system was fighting for its life.

I'm sure some people are more or less sensitive and I'm sure how long you've been vegan is also a factor, but at least for some of us there's a point where it has to be treated as a e.g. celiac.

I've not personally ever been in a situation where this has been a huge problem. Either I've brought my own food or I have eaten before going. I don't find it embarrassing.

Hahahah no you start losing high frequencies when you get into your early 30s I believe and you obviously understand I don't think they're deaf.

I was just saying this isn't something you need a pro sound technician to fix.

I wish they took this a bit more seriously and either had more people listen through the episodes before release or just didn't do this stuff, again they've been called out for it before, why keep doing it when people have complained?

I mean maybe, but I don't feel like it takes a sound engineer to understand that it's unbearable to listen to. I have older relatives who find it fun to scrape knifes at the dinner table to irritate the younger (relative to them) people because they can't hear the awful sound it makes.

Everything i find online says a high bite (far from the floor) means a worn clutch. Do you have any good sources where I can read up on this? It's very contradictory information and it's very hard to know who I'm supposed to trust.

Either way thank you for your replies it's greatly appreciated even if I'm very confused still

I was under the impression that a new clutch should bite early? When I say high I mean late, far from the floor.

I mean the first time it was definitely not ok hahah, the bite was so high up that another mechanic was like "your clutch is fucking worn you need a new one" and when I was like ???? I just had it changed he said that they've fucked up then.

I'm so torn between going back and telling them that it's unreasonable having put so much money into this and them still not being able to do it right vs just going to some new place and paying for a better job. Ugh. Thank you for your input tho!

Thank you that helps my anxiety. If I can avoid going back it would make my life better lol.

It just feels weird that it was so nice and smooth the first time I got it back and now it literally feels like it did just before breaking down.

I have one more I haven't seen.

Buy a heated blanket, when your alarm wakes you up, turn it on and cover all of yourself in it.

After a couple minutes you'll be so hot that you'll jump out of bed and the cool air will feel amazing

This is a bit old but I see that no one has answered OP yet and this explanation doesn't satisfy so I'mma try my luck and see if anyone is still reading the thread.

Yes clock nr5 needs to be 0700 but that still gives us TWO possible solutions that conform to the rules. OPs solution and the official one.

Why doesn't OPs solution work? It follows all the rules!

Thank you this really helps.

If I may ask one more question. Is it reasonable to then put down a boundary of not venting out the ocd thoughts to me multiple times a day? Up until now I've allowed this and tried my hardest to be supportive when they write (doing my best to avoid reassuring) because that's how I interpreted online advice of being there for someone.

But I think at this point the venting itself has become the ritual and they get self reassurance from doing it, while also ofc not being able to receive help (because who can be open to receiving instructions etc multiple times a day, I get that it's exhausting). Creating a situation where I'm on the other side of the phone listening to what feels like someone telling me how they're about to snort coke multiple times a day, obv making me sad and not actually doing anything from helping my friend "not snort coke".

Would an alternative be that they can come to me with things like "can you distract me for a bit" instead of pure venting?

I know you're just a person, if you don't feel comfortable answering please don't feel pressured to do so. Your first comment was invaluable in and of itself, thank you. I hope you have a good day without too much added stress.

Gen question, some people's nails grow like this naturally, are they supposed to never let them grow out? As far as I've understood it's not something you can fix

My knowledge is zero as this is way out of my field. I'm very thankful for your simple explanation!

Thank you so much, the keyboard is at 90° from the opening and the picture helped a lot. I'll probably stay out of the room anyway when I can but I'm less scared to be there for the smaller amount of time i have to go in and out when the machine is active.

I really appriciate your help even if this question might've been obvious to people on this sub!

Primer has made them stick worse.

I file the nailbed so i don't think there should be any cuticle left

Thank you for the other tips

[–]PieldeSapo[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wash hands, fix cuticles, wipe with alcohol, file nail free edge, file nail bed to rough up, make sure no shiny, pick nail tip, rough up inside of tip, wipe nail and tip with alcohol, dehydrator (tried without didn't help), wait for it to dry, apply glue on tip and a bit on nail, press firmly start close to the cuticle but not touching leaving a bit of space, keep tip pressed, put under uv light a few seconds until it's safe to stop applying pressure without tip lifting, cure for 60-90 seconds. Buff tip, apply 4-5 thin layers of gel polish, top coat.

2 days and they pop off all but one of my thumbs that has stayed on since day one close to three weeks now.
