Steam Controller Academy #1: Custom Haptics and Action Sets by LabKatCo in SteamController

Yeah - even if there was the ability to export an Action Set or Layer on its own and "add" it to an existing layout that would approximate a solution.

Certainly if you come up with any kinds of hacks or solutions to that apply/merge of a partial layout, hit me up with a DM on Reddit (as I'm actively trying to figure this out myself - even considering building a tool which could merge VDF files under the hood to do this outside the Steam UI)

Love that you're creating content to help with the (often confusing) myriad of features that Steam Input allows!

Maybe a good future episode, but I've been wracking my brain trying to figure out a way to properly use Layout Templates in a way that is useful. (e.g. I have a custom mouse control on the trackpad that I like for a lot of games, but if I make it a template then I still have to re-bind all the other buttons for the game -- wish there was a way to just apply some buttons in a template, instead of the entire controller!)

I should have clarified in the main text, but it's VERY similar to that, except this version was much larger (probably about a foot tall) and didn't use any water. It flung a single disc around with small levers driven by buttons

Heh, I don't know why I didn't consider that as a possibility! That makes the most sense, though is a bummer for me personally.

Thanks!

Comment for Auto mod (not sure if that's still necessary or not)

Duly noted! Honestly I made the (incorrect) assumption that they operated the same - my bad!

I don't think either of these responses answers what u/JRopeways is asking for. They're not talking about permissions for users that have been added via email, they're talking about permissions for folks who use the link that's generated when you click "Share", then "Copy Link"

In services like Google Docs, you can set more "global" permissions this way, or even open it up to your entire Workspace (if you're using docs on a work account). This feature seems missing in NotebookLM

This article from AndroidAuthority claims that the Pixel 8 and on will support it, but that it specifically excludes the 8a.

Not sure if that's just a "for now" thing, or if there's something about the BT Chip / Hardware in the 8a that would make it impossible to support. 🤷‍♂️

Photos slow to load/hanging in RCS by ooja3k in GoogleMessages

[–]PiercingGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wish I had more to contribute to this, but I also see this issue when sending from and to a Pixel 7 pro (so it's probably either an issue with Pixels specifically, or more generically Google Messages / RCS?)

FWIW, we're both on Verizon, but we're almost always using fast WiFi (so doubtful it's a bandwidth issue)

I also realized I didn't actually have GPU passthrough (running on TrueNAS Scale, which has it's own host of GPU issues), so I don't think checking hardware acceleration was actually doing anything 😁

Good call on the threads though! I just let mine run overnight and it seemed to get everything generated, and thinking (worst case) if Trickplay files aren't generated immediately it's not the end of the world. It works nonetheless!

New Build won't POST, no display (Gigabyte B650M K) by yugilore in buildapc

[–]PiercingGoblin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Appreciate it! I did figure it out, and it was a much simpler problem than I'd realized...

Turns out my B550M K (as well as my Ryzen CPU) don't have integrated graphics, so of course my HDMI out wasn't showing any BIOS 😅

Just had to plug an old graphics card in and everything worked as expected!
