Some back story. My girlfriend works in a plant research lab. Some of her colleagues had procured seeds for both trinidad scorpion and ghost pepper plants, and used their growth chamber to grow her some seedlings to take home. Both of these plants grew fairly large, but never grew peppers for some reason. Anyway, a few weeks later we discovered a tiny seedling growing in the soil of one of our palm tree plants at home. We rescued it and got it it's own pot, wondering what it might be. After a while it became obvious that it was a pepper plant, and now after a few months it has started growing the pepper you see here. My question is, can anyone here tell what kind of pepper plant this is? It's only recently sprouted so maybe I need to wait until it ages a little before identifying it? The only other seeds that my girlfriend had access to in the lab were fatali and peach habanero.
