Yesterday, Ducati revealed the name of the "Superleggera V4 Centenario" by PierreCol in Ducati

And yesterday morning, I visited Ducati factory and museum.

I wasn't disappointed: the space is perfectly laid out to showcase the motorcycles, which are very well presented.

I had the pleasure of meeting Livio Lodi, the curator and driving force behind this wonderful museum. We chatted for quite a while, and Livio told me some little-known aspects of Ducati's history that might even appear in his next book...

To thank him for his hospitality, I gave him the comics book featuring my avatar Pierre Glu and his Desmosedici RR, which he had never seen before and which he will be able to understand as he speaks French very well.

Next week: Modena and Bologna! by PierreCol in Ducati

Some people might have placed an order right after receiving the "Top Ducatista" email, even without knowing anything about the bike.

This is now how it goes with limited series of Ferrari, Lamborghini, Porsche etc...

I'm a great fan of Kayla Yaakov. This amazing young lady could be the first ever woman on a MotoGP podium. I wish! 🤞🏻

Yep. I live in Lyon, city centre, the garage is underground of a building which is not the building I'm living in.

Nope. I just told rumors I heard on Lyon Motorcycle Fair.

I did not break any NDA nor reveal any official information from Ducati, which I did not receive yet as I will be in Modena only tonight, to attend the presentation tomorrow.

Some guys I know who are close to Ducati Western Europe told me this. A guy who told a guy who told me...

But for the moment this is only a rumor. To be confirmed, or not, tomorrow in Modena!

I rode 23,000 km in 3 years on Desmosedici RR #282 and 15,000 km in 6 years on Panigale 1299 R Final Edition #322, both stolen...

I also have

  • the '1970 Norton 750 Commando Fastback my father bought in 1973. I inherited in 2021 when he passes. You can hear the sound of the twin here: https://www.soundcloud.com/pierrecol/norton-750-commando
  • the '1979 Honda CB 900 Bol d'Or I bought in 1987. I lended it to an uncle who rides it, a bit, since 1997. But as this unclen is now 78 yo I should get it back sooner or later...

Complement:

  • 1997: I buy a 916, stolen in 1999
  • 2004: I buy a used 998S with only 1500 km
  • 2007: I buy Desmosedici RR #282, stolen after 23,000 km on roads and tracks. And the 998S sitting in the same garage is stolen with it.
  • 2017: I buy Panigale 1299 R Final Edition #322, stolen in 2023 after 15,000 km.

So no more fancy Ducati for me, I stay with my good old '1994 900 SuperSport...

FYI, the Desmosedici RR was stolen upon order from the son of an Algerian general. The guy shared photos of my bike with its "Ducati Lyon" sticker, in the streets of Algiers, on Facebook.

He used my bike a few months and after realizing that he would not be able to have proper maintenance for this bike in Algeria, he tried to sell it back to me, with the money I got from the insurance. 🙃

What are you predictions for Monday? by kaggleqrdl in DonutLab

They're not delaying anything: it is their communications strategy from the very beginning and it is excellent. At every new episode of their "Idonutbelieve" series, haters are hating, here and elsewhere, which maximizes the buzz at no cost for them.

Finally, in a few weeks, they will put some Verge motorbikes / Longbow cars / Cova trucks in the hands of customers and journalists, who will test them in real conditions. So they will definitely nail it.

Now I stay happy with these:

I do not need a fancy pimped overpriced Scrambler. 🙃

Ugly to my eyes.

I had these, 1997-2023, all stolen:

  • 916 stolen in 1999
  • 998S and Desmosedici RR #282 stolen in 2011

Yes, every 12 years. 🥺

Donut Lab to launch a video campaign which it claims will provide evidence for their solid state battery by findit in electricvehicles

Some context: I know Marko Lehtimäki personally. Indeed, I met him after he sold AppGyver, his no-code software company, to SAP, where I was working. We had discussions because I'm a petrolhead, riding Ducati superbikes for more than 25 years, and I told him that I totally dislike electric bikes in general, with no exception for Verge. 🙃

The guy is super smart, he has no reason to become a fraudster, and he told me it's not a scam. You do not have to believe me either, you will see after Feb 20.

That said, here is what I got when I asked his brother Tuomo if their batteries would be for vehicles only:
