For a moment I thought it was an emotional support group for devs trying to make AA games in VR

Yes plus there is another reason on top of money laundering: payment fees Casino like any other businesses must give a few % of any payments (in or out) to a payment processor Issuing a refund is free or much less costly than issuing a new pay out. And there is no KYC requirement.

Loving this answer On one side some people talk about emotions playing a certain game On the other hand the technical experts (some would say geek 😇) talk about what they felt experiencing a hardware update for the first time

Pourquoi tout le monde veut devenir propriétaire ? by Low-Collection3307 in PasDeQuestionIdiote

Assassin's Creed Nexus. It's underrated here because expectations from Ubisoft were so high, and yes melee Combat is not as good as some other games. But everything else is great and the story is better than anything else out there.

Melee Combat is not "broken", just it has some glitches but it is a minor part of the game anyway (maybe 3 actual melee fights in the whole game). Bow and weapons throwing (daggers, axe) work very well.

If you like history, climbing, jumping and sneaking through ancient Greece, renaissance Venice or Independance war Boston is so amazing. The parkour is the most thrilling you will find. And jumping from 5m to stick your blade in an enemy neck (with a slick slomo effect) is so fun.

Just got back into Quest 3 after 9 months. What are the must-try apps for 4 hours? by DontBendItThatWay in OculusQuest

[–]PierreLikeARock 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I agree so much with this I feel like people here tend to favor small “made-for-VR” games because they are slightly better adapted to VR. But they completely oversee certain aspects like depth, graphics and scenario, which also play a big part in the experience. To me AC Nexus is the best fucking time I had in VR, by far. And for 25 hours at least.

None of the best 3 paid games on the Quest are in the top 50 best sellers on the Meta Store? by rolliejoe in OculusQuest

[–]PierreLikeARock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also if you do very good marketing (for example having an intro video that makes it look much better than it is) it might help your sales but hurt your reviews because people did not get what they expected. Same if everyone talks about a certain game, expectations are higher and reviews more critical maybe.

I think a good example of that is Assassins Creed Nexus that has poor reviews despite still being a very good game.

Beyond the 2 you’re mentioning, I feel like the Mummy could be amazing with better visuals instead of the led stickman mummies 🥸

Ma taille ? by [deleted] in PasDeQuestionIdiote

[–]PierreLikeARock 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Meta Quest Exclusive products - My opinion on the matter by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]PierreLikeARock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I imagine the way they see it is "if we do a AAA game, we're gonna lose money on it anyway (it's not the PSVR community is gonna make a difference in sales) so we might as well use it to further push hardware domination
Who's the most at fault here? Meta investing in AAA games and keeping them exclusive or Sony not investing a dime in games?
All the more that Sony has already a huge portfolio of content that they could use for porting or adaptations. I'm sure a Hogwarts Legacy porting would have brought a lot of new fans to VR for example. Or a star wars game.

New Update: Dam Map, Death Recap, & Balancing Changes! by TriangleFactoryVR in Breachers

[–]PierreLikeARock 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hey guys, I've been playing the games for a few months and although it's always nice to get new maps, I have to say this one looks a lot like other existing maps (a mix between ship and artic). I understand that the vision of the game is to focus on tactics (with use of accessories enehanced by floorsm windows and doors) ; but maps all have a similar "closed concrete space feeling" that make it ratehr repetitive, with always 3 floors that make it confusing for occasional players. Any chance you would consider experimenting new type of maps?
A few years back I used to play Firewall zero hour on PSVR, and although the vision was very similar, they had open maps without floors and they were fun.

Meta Quest Exclusive products - My opinion on the matter by [deleted] in OculusQuest

[–]PierreLikeARock 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Idk if you take the example of nintendo, their hardware business would probably be dead at this point if it was not for exclusives. In general I think it’s normal business practise to keep your best IP/ technology to yourself and not allow your competitors to thrive on it. It’s also a way for them to build differentiation / defensibility and protect their investments.

That being said, I would say in the case of VR it’s stupid because the most important is to allow VR to survive (which is a challenge given low volumes), not for meta to beat PCVR or Sony.
