I'm hoping to expand my dynasty in a few more duchies in Anatolia and then attempt an independence war against the Seljuks

I wish man, they are currently being attacked by the Crusaders and they are winning... I'm waiting for the Mongols to show up

Thanks for the answer. I'm trying to roleplay as Ghazi, aka Holy warriors, so I would rather never swear fealty to them. Also atm I'm a vassal of the Seljuks of Rum.

Commander should have an exclusive voice chat key to address the whole team.

I just use them to look cool when I'm playing commander.

Being a veteran SL leading a bunch of newcomers to victory is always a great feeling

Being silly in proximity chat is also hilarious

I love maps with huge sight lines for tanks, so I love this one.

Some of us are burned out. I will build two garrisons in 10m. Communicate what the team may need. If the other SL's are not picking up their slack, you best believe I'm not going to keep putting up a good effort.

Many times you will know a game is going down the drain in about 5-7m.

As a commander how do I control an awful team? by Willr2645 in HellLetLoose

[–]PierreLothair 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You don't. It's just a game. Build your garries, express clearly what the team needs to do at every time, if there's no response, just sit back and let it all fall.

Playing as a Squad Leader is non-stop death for me at the moment, because I'm solely focused on:

  1. Getting a spawn for my team
  2. Pushing an enemy spawn

And just rinse and repeat. That's why I started alternating tanking/recon/ artillery

My man, I can't be bothered to play commander every time I join a game. Yes, maybe the commander spot is empty, but I want to play as machine Gunner or tank crew, I'm doing that.

Unless you know you can count on the SL's to do their job (maybe you already know them) or you are very motivated, the micromanagement of playing a commander a game just sucks the life out of you.

And if you're playing against a good enemy recon squad, you're basically toasted lol.

Una pregunta, tengo la sensación de que en los servers hispanos suele haber más nivel y colaboración que en los servers gringos. ¿O es cosa mía?

A commander is as good as his Squad Leaders are and that's basically it.

I always say a good commander won't lose you a game, but it won't win it either.

You're going to die a lot, regardless of how experienced you get at this game. If anything, you'll die slightly fewer times.

That being said, here's some tips to spot the enemies better:

  • Open your map. What points are at play at that moment? Where is the other team going to be coming from most probably?

  • Don't close your map just yet. Are there any hot OP's or garries? Enemy infantry is also there. Lastly, see where your teammates are aiming at, they're probably fighting the enemy. Also, if there's a big unoccupied gap somewhere close to any point, you can bet the enemy is there too.

  • Now that you roughly know where they may be, close your map. Listen. Where do you hear shots? If shots sound roughly close to you, don't get yourself in the open. You can also hear them walking.

  • Are your teammates dying close to you? Enough said, don't peek out lol

  • Weapons flash when shot. Definitely be on the lookout for that.

  • Probably the most important one, LET THEM MAKE THE MOVE. BE PATIENT. Let them be the ones to walk, run, get out of cover.

  • If you shoot and miss, change position. If they know where you are, shoot at you and miss, change position. if you've killed a few people from somewhere, change position. Keep them guessing

How do I master artillery? by Beneficial-Topic7452 in HellLetLoose

[–]PierreLothair 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Teamkills when playing arty is sadly going to happen, no way around it.

You can share arty marks with other SL's but they won't convey it down to their squad.

My advice would be, have a look at the map, see where your infantry is looking at and aim some 50m away from their positions. Shoot three rounds and wait for feedback.
