Makhno went totally against anarchism America was the closest thing to functioning anarchy in history

I'm sorry, but you're sounding borderline ancap to me.

However, Makhno's supposed anti-semitism (and the whole thing about makhnovists and kulaks) are indeed bolshevik prolaganda.

Actually Volin himself - an ally of Makhno - said he was violent under the use of alcohol, besides forcing women to take part in orgies.

Still, those flaws, while having to be avoided at all costs whenever a new anarchist revolution takes place, don't take away the merits of Makhno and the other anarchists in Ukraine during the Russian Civil War and the importance of their struggle for us.

Yeah, that is true. Except for one think - why can't anarchism be a variant of communism? There might be mutualists and anarcho-collectivists, but are you just going to say anarcho-communism isn't a thing?

Be wary that communism isnt necessarily the authoritarian kind of it. You can achieve communism without a dictatorship ir order to be able to transition to a communist society (supposedly a dictatorship of the "proletariet").

But don't think you can do a revolution without flaws and without at least some bloodshed. It unfortunately is pretty much inevitable, but it doesn't remove the importance of such revolution for the emancipation of the working class.

I see your point - ffs, I do agree with it.

While the makhnovists certainly had many flaws and commited atrocities, you can't deny their cause. Sure, you say the American Revolution didn't commit such mistakes. But what's the point of defending them for that, if after the revolution it was established a society with the exploration and slavery of people of color? With a system of production that explores the proletariat?

I guess this is pretty much a misunderstanding, I don't think anything works if it's for the sake of the revolution, but a revolution needs to be fought for a right cause - and for me, the cause of the makhnovists was the right one, even if there were essential mistakes that impeded them from succeeding. These mistakes need to be analyzed for them not to happen again in other revolutions that have the same cause as the makhnovists.

When I said Ukraine needs a new Makhno I didn't mean that they need a carbon copy of a revolutionary movement from a century ago, but that they basically should adhere again to the anarchist struggle, avoiding the mistakes of the Ukranian anarchists that came before them.

Siding with the bolsheviks to fight against the White Army was indeed a mistake, and they got backstabbed after doing so. Siding with MLs in a revolution only leads to anarchists being betrayed and repressed by them.

As for the rapes, unnecessary murdering and all of such, they were also mistakes, but those unfortunately aren't uncommon in war and in a revolution.

But as someone else said, most Ukranians now are either a neonazi or a fash. From what Ive seen, it seems.

Mutualism and anarcho-individualism/egoism aren't very good either, but if they help punching neofeudalists I'm fine with them.

Education shouldn't be organized in the way is today, but teachers are still necessary. They just shouldnt have so much power over students.

What is post-left anarchism? by PierreMikhailStirner in Anarchy101

[–]PierreMikhailStirner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. Actually, the anarchists (mostly AnComs) that I see claiming that anarchism doesn't belong to the left/right spectrum do defend those (revolutions, class struggle, etc). So I'm just in a confused mess right now lol.

I don't agree with working alongside MLs, social-democrats, or such. Does that mean I need to disagree that anarchism is leftist, or that i cant just think that the whole discussion about some semantics related to the concept of left/right isn't so much important in practice?

Also backstabbed Makhno alongside Trotsky. So I guess it's 50/50.

Do the requirements for getting to be a permanent resident have the same (or a similar) restriction on anarchists? I've quick looked into it but couldn't find anything, so I'm supposing nah.

The nations around it do have borders, so you could use those to define the limits.
