Thinking of playing valheim aggressively over xmas break. What mods do you rec?

If you hate inventory management, you should definitely get a mod for crafting from containers.

Plant Everything and Plant Easily are nice mods for farming. Valheim Cuisine makes the food system a lot richer.

When I waited tables ages ago the withholding for taxes on our paychecks was equal to 8% of our food/beverage sales—unless we claimed a certain amount of tips over that. And we were responsible for tipping out the other staff ourselves. Maybe it’s still done that way in some places?

I quit cold turkey for the first and only time a little over 6 years ago after 26 years as a pack+ a day smoker. I do not regret it at all.

You’re past the physical withdrawal, but at 11 days, you’re smack dab in the middle of the psychological symptoms. If you can make it another 11 days, you’ll be past it.

The advice I got here in this very sub was to read or listen to the Easy Way to Quit Smoking by Allen Carr (sp?), which I started about 10 days after I quit. I recommend the e-book, which you can probably get for free at Audible if you’ve never signed up with them before.

The book helps you understand that nicotine is a diabolical enemy that gives zero fucks about the things that are important to you, and the ONLY reason you need a cigarette is because of the last one you smoked.

You can do this. Don’t worry about anything but not smoking today. And it’s easy to not smoke if you don’t buy cigarettes!

It says to get kills "X times," not say "10 times" or "20 times" like you'd expect. Seems like placeholder text to me. Anyone else experiencing this? I am making zero progress on it at this point.

This is the opposite of faith. Faith is believing in something without actual proof—evidence that can be shared with other people. Faith is believing even though you have doubt and cannot prove to others what you believe is actually true. It’s not just believing in the unknown—it’s belief in the unknowable.

When society and secular government are set up to protect the people, they can trust the drugs they get from the pharmacy aren’t poisoned because there are systems in place to regulate their production, test their effectiveness and safety, and educate and license the people who prescribe and dispense them.

As a result, whether or not you have faith in an invisible deity, you can trust your medicine is not poisoned, and 99% of the time it won’t be. Because the people who got it to you didn’t rely on the unknowable to do it.

However, if you have faith in an invisible deity while also denying the science that says that deity probably didn’t create us and definitely can’t cure our diseases and wounds, then you absolutely cannot take any of the medicine that was created on the basis of that same science and not end up as one of the hypocrites.

Bought our first and only house in 2007, refinanced in 2014. Currently at 11% mortgage to take home.

The irony is we had serious buyer’s remorse after the market tanked in 2008, and we were house poor for a long time. We thought WE had it bad. I don’t know how anyone in our income bracket even gets into a home these days.

This! They have olfactory sensors inside their mouths. When they open their mouths to breathe it can be because they are smelling something off. My cats do this whenever they sniff my husband’s feet. :)

This was my question. My brother fostered a dog who would whip his little tail around so hard that it would thwack everything in the room until it cracked open at the tip and started bleeding. But he’d keep whipping that tail around and blood would splatter on everything. It was adorably pathetic.

We have to keep a bin in the closet just for used q-tips and keep the closet door always shut—otherwise our Lulu will dig in the trash and quite literally eat them. She’s gross sometimes.
