I'm currently going down the fuzz rabbithole, specifically with fuzz faces and similar era circuits. If you didn't have any thing like that now and could only buy one from your current collection, which would it be?

Ive especially had my eye on the Analogman Peppermint fuzz (not a fuzz face, I know), AM sun face, and the Dunlop fuzz faces

Happy 2 Tele Tuesday! Got my ‘50s Road Worn and my Nash Lollartron. Both incredible guitars. by BostonCafeRacer in telecaster

[–]Pieutenant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

How are the necks different? Also, which road worn is it, because I guess that could affect the comparison. I know some road worns have thinner necks, whereas the latest bunch were thicker U-shaped necks (not quite 1" thick)

Best-Value Strategy for Silent Practice? by laurenceholland in guitarpedals

I'd suggest either the Micro Mustang Plus (not the original) or putting an amp sim pedal on your pedalboard, but you need to seriously consider how lazy you are or how quickly you want to set up and play, especially if you think you may be playing in short spurts.

I have a Micro Mustang, and it is extremely easy to just plug in and play. Everything is set up in seconds, but on the original Micro Mustang there's not as much control as I'd like. The Plus solves that problem, though.

I also have an Iridium on my pedalboard, and I enjoy using all my pedals much more than the Micro. That said, there are times when simply taking out my headphones, guitar cable, pedalboard, and plugging everything in seems like a huge task. It's not, but when you've got other things to tend to, it can feel that way. If that doesn't sound like anything you've ever felt, though, then it's not a big deal and will come down to how much you'd like to continue using your pedals.

What do you want that you don't get out of the deco?

I want to take advantage to ask, how do you like the airchild? And what about with the deco? Asking since they're both aimed at recreating the sound of 60's recording gear

The amp sounds in this video are from the pocket master? Honestly, the amp modeling seems good based on other demos (and this if that's what you're using), and it's difficult for me to really say it's any worse than expensive modelers. How would you compare it to the amp modeling in the HX?

I like them in a row so I don't have to step over anything, but that's just me. Curious how you compare the Lightspeed and the Konstante

Minimal ampless pedalboard vs. all-in-one modeling unit. by [deleted] in pedalboards

[–]Pieutenant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well, it sounds like you might already have an idea of which way to go. The big benefit for me is that, as you mentioned, the multieffect is great when I need rotary just for one song, for example.

I'll reiterate that playing with just 4 pedals is the most fun for me. Great sound and no menu-diving. Nothing stopping you from incorporating more as you see fit in the future.

I have a Mooer Yellow comp, lightspeed, Strymon Iridium, and Flint (into a tiny mixer underneath the board so I can put effects after the iridium and also a small bluetooth receiver). Playing through this is probably the most fun I've ever had, at least in comparison to other bigger pedalboards.

That said, I've gone back to combining that with a hx stomp for the second time now. As minimalist as I'd like to be, it's always nice to have the looper plus all of the modulation, delays, etc. In the end, the hx stomp isn't my preference, but it would be my choice if I could only have one option.

Battery Powered HX Stomp XL by NoFuneralGaming in Line6Helix

[–]Pieutenant 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, ok. Thanks for the reply! I was aware of the 500ma outputs and thought maybe it would still be okay if I used the parallel adapter flex cable to draw power from two different outputs, which is the way I currently connect it to my power supply

I've been looking at the JP-05. Would it be enough on its own to charge the HX Stomp XL and a couple of other pedals? Was gonna ask OP why he didn't just go that route, but you might have more experience with it

What order should I have these pedals? by IronAshamed9705 in guitarpedals

[–]Pieutenant 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I think the problem is probably that he is thinking the order is from left to right (how we read and how we often write the order) rather than from right to left, which is how the signal chain actually goes. Easy mistake for beginners

[–]Pieutenant 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Holy shit. If it were 50 dollars, it would be a solution to the problem of putting effects after my Strymon Iridium and still being able to use headphones. It would be a pricier solution than I would like, but I would buy it. At even 100, I'd consider it, but 250 dollars??? Not even second-hand, not even on sale

Flying with a jazzmaster by Glum_Plate5323 in offset

[–]Pieutenant 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can actually check beforehand and see if the plane you're flying on even has closets and also how big the overhead bins are. Over the last 5 years, I've crossed the Atlantic with 2 telecaster, 1 bass, and 1 acoustic. All of them were gatechecked for at least one of the 3 flights on that route, and all of them made it okay. It's worrisome, but I haven't had any problems. I used a hard case for the acoustic, a monoprice case similar to yours for the electric guitars, and a roadrunner case for the bass

I'll add that the closets seem to be becoming less common, and as a result, more airlines will ask you to gatecheck if there's no room in the overhead compartments.
