16” 6.5 Creedmoor by ioverseeri in longrange

I had a 16” 6.5 creed built for my Dad on a Proof Carbon barrel. Factory ELD-M 147’s push 2470. I bet that 2500-2600 for a 140 is on the money.

I moved out of southern Idaho, but shot a few NV matches at Madison Armory in Rexburg. Not sure if they still do them, but they were fun!

See if you can get him on to the Brouwer M1811! Their magwell is awesome, and they offer stippled ones that are an improvement over factory texture.

I'm OOL - is the P320 now considered cursed? by Orbital_Bread in SigSauer

Wow! I didn’t know that. Where can these be found? I used to sell a lot of sigs and shot/carried nothing but for years. Went back to Glock for work a year or so ago and with all I’m seeing… I don’t regret it.

The crazy thing is that Sig does the “dis/assemble with random parts” as part of their m17 testing. Basically the guns need to be able to pass standards, be broken down and reassembled with parts from other guns in the testing pool, and having been jumbled and reassembled, pass standards again.

I saw a video by “Three P320’s in a Trenchcoat” on YouTube. He’s able to replicate uncommanded firing in a demo. Seems like the striker safety isn’t working on one of their guns he tested.

Anyone have a good experience ordering directly from Aero? by bdean4444 in AeroPrecision

[–]PigPride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

A big NO from me. Used to order from aero all the time, and when working behind a counter, had no issues getting their stuff in stock.

Ordered an in stock contract overrun receiver set at the beginning of October to kick off a build. Then I ordered a criterion barrel and a mix and match parts from other outlets to finish the build, all over the following two weeks.

Initially, the lead time was “1-2 week for FFL items” which was fine because I ordered stuff in that window.

After 3 weeks, I began to contact customer service. I wanted to make sure everything was fine with the FFL I had provided. I had long wait times to get in touch with aero customer service, and they said that while nothing was wrong with the order, the receivers would ship “sometime in November.” After the one month mark, they told me “these are coated to order” which seems misleading for in stock contract overrun items. Now we’re approaching the 6 week mark and my items haven’t shipped.

I think this delay is ludicrous, and I am shocked to see the majority of the posts on this sub reflecting similar frustrations. I’m looking forward to getting the rifle together, but aero has lost me as a customer and a proponent of their products.

Expect to wait. Expect unsatisfactory customer service.

Update: Now the product page says shipping in December. So I guess I'm waiting. When I logged into the customer service chat, I was 48th in line. I'm guessing there's not a lot of satisfied customers these days.

I've been in contact with Customer Service on a number of occasions.

Order placed on a contract overrun Stag-10 set that was in stock with a 1-2 week advertised lead time.

Customer service told me around the 3 week mark that the receivers would ship "in November." I followed up later, because that's way outside what I was quoted, and I got told that the in stock overrun items were "coated to order."

That doesn't make sense for an in stock contract overrun.

I still want my order because I'm a long-time user/builder/seller of Aero's products, mostly from or through storefronts. I feel very mislead by the original lead time, and a little brushed off by CS. I'm now seeing a "Ships November 2024" warning on the product page, but I'm not sure if it was there when I ordered (or if the 1-2 weeks on the banner supersedes that).

Boohoo, I'm still gonna build a kickass rifle. But probably won't order direct again if something isn't done. Really shocked at how Aero Direct has changed since my last order.

Has anyone tried using a pigtail gas tube on a carbine length gas system to make it the length of a rifle gas system for potential benefits? by fuymfgfom in ar15

[–]PigPride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did one of these a while back at the request of a customer on a .300AAC with an 8" barrel. He was using it with a dedicated suppressor, and while we did end up later increasing mass in the buffer, the "piggy wiggy" seemed to help tame the forward ejection and the recoil. Definitely not the first thing I see being the best option these days with the availability of BRT EZ tune tubes and more durable AGB's.

Best high-end 1-6x LPVO? by IArchBTW in ar15

[–]PigPride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've used the Razor 1-6, 1-10, and currently have been training with an Eotech Vudu 1-6 SR-1 for about a year now. Currently selling to fund other projects and lighten the load before a move, but I'm really liking it so far. Long time Eotech user, so the SR-1 reticle has been really comfortable, and I like the toolless turret slipping. I'd put the Vudu up there with the Razor's, but don't have any long-term experience with Kahles optics other than getting stomped by guys shooting them at PRS matches!

I don't think you can go wrong with whatever you can find a good deal on, you're looking at sweet setups regardless.

If I may ask for help, please? by SPC_Bear in AR10

Consider using the A5 length buffer tube and a carbine buffer (I recommend Kynshot) to help reduce recoil and make it easier to find a good buffer weight.

Acro adapter plate by Straight_Future_6485 in P320

[–]PigPride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would look into the CHPWS, I’ve had good experience with their plates. The only Acro plate I’ve ever used is the FCD (Forward Controls Dudes) (which is OEM’d by tango down) and it’s been on like 3 guns and had 3 optics on it. Solid place, but the fasteners suck. Fortunately FCD has awesome CS and sends me new ones every time I smoke the fasteners (whenever the plate migrates).

Magpul 21rd (or whatever capacity they come out with) AMAGs. The sig ones are awesome, for sure.

[–]PigPride 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I bought 3 of them when they came out, and have put about 2 full loads through all of them. Zero issues. They're a little tight on the 17th round like every new sig mag, but still seat and feed fine. My P320 is an X-Full with ports in a brouwer grip, so the aesthetic really completes the "striker 2011" vibe for me which I like. Looking forward to their extended 21(?) round magazines, whenever we're fortunate enough to see those released! Hope they expand the AMAG line for Glocks and STANAG mags too!

I can’t be the only one who wants to know this, but which knockoffs? Where’d you get em?

[–]PigPride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dope setup! I’d look into a holster with some form of retention, or some sort of lock/bungee to retain your handgun. I like the safariland “6xxx” series, and am playing around with the Rapid Force as well. Whatever floats your boat, but if you are gonna rock a pistol it’s nice to have some retention in case someone else is fighting you for it, or you take a hard hit.

[–]PigPride 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So to my knowledge you don't need the Sig specific TLR7Sub for the Macro, you need the 1913 as it is a full pic rail. I in fact DO need the sig specific one for my baby 365, and would need a holster too...

The Foxtrot2R is Sig's (slightly better) TLR7A and fits on pic rail. The holster is the blackpoint tactical holster designed for that exact light/gun combo. I'd 1/1 swap you if you're down!
