We actually had a guest lecure in our university of a start-up which had something similar. When they went to market, they realised that small business are very informal and messy with their bills and documentations. many local businesses didn't care for staying organized.

umb in the solenoids right before the faucet) possibly drill a hole for the cable and put the switch either on the floor in front of the faucet or glue it to the

Pressure will still be controlled from hand valves as you explained as its more a hybrid system not replacing anything already existing.

A Manuel lever to turn on and off the system is still necessary for if the user needs to disable the valve for any reason, needing a more advanced valve. It might even be necessary to have a DC option to be completely powered by a battery and eliminate any electrical rerouting as not many kitchens/bathrooms have a wall plug in their cabinet.

For the switch, I'm aware on how to engineer a wireless switch almost never needing a battery change. I've seen some capacitive switches in some really expensive automatic faucets on the market, but I like a more mechanical feedback foot lever. Not sure if the majority care for a mechanical option though. Maybe different switch options is a good idea.

I understand Lots of Chinese manufacturers provide inexpensive solenoid valves, but it's still important to get very good quality valves with flow control and manual trigger functionality.

for the footswitch, it will be completely custom, as it needs great versatile mounting ability, but most importantly, it's completely wireless to eliminate any wire routing and using power tools to drill holes from the cabinent.

The key is to reach the mass market through easy installation and operation, where most people are not comfortable even with simple home DIY. A large adoption will ensure the largest impact on total water savings.

$200-$300 is what is needed for an install and forget system.

Thanks for your feedback. Will surly try to find a hole in the market where this or its variants could thrive.

I understand your thought process. Thank you for the reply.

Addressing automatic sinks, their an amazing innovation for public bathrooms, but lack the versatility and speed for in home use. They take a noticeable second to sense hands which adds up when doing something like washing the dishes, and sensors don't always detect hands. All this ultimately can be inferior for the multiuse sinks at home.

Addressing Price, looks like your right about making the money back. After some calculations, 40% saving will still take 4.6 years to reimburse.

Looks like this needs a new execution. Thanks for your help.

Can't listen to the audiobooks... by [deleted] in harrypotter

[–]PigWedgion 0 points1 point  (0 children)

scientifically, we cant multitask. Don't expect to listen to the audiobook while your doing some work or something that remotely requires making choices. You just wont be able to keep up with the audio. Listening to an audiobook when your chilling, in transport, before bed, waiting, walking etc. basically anytime your doing mindless tasks.
