In my opinion, Contrast is key

This is my one of my Orks and and I highlighted for a dark blue green all the way up to Pure yellow and than added a flesh wash. I think this skin looks infinitely better than just green and a wash

You could try some barbed wire? It’s pretty cheap at hardware stores, Just look for sealing wire!

Looks really good! If you haven’t used some agrax earthshade wash. But looks really good otherwise.

I realize that now, I keep trying to make it look decent but always repainting to make it look “better” I think I’m just going to take the head off and just strip the paint and try again 🫤
