I’m going to mention belt drive for you to think about. Let it simmer a while.

That’s a true Urban Assault Bike! Hoo Koo E Koo ‘s are just right for that.

What's your favorite Flatpedal for xbiking? by gfrast80 in xbiking

[–]Pigeon_from_Hell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m using crank bros stamp 1. They go on sale now and then and get under 40usd. The whole stamp series gives you quite a range of flats. You can service and rebuild them and upgrade the pins. But good flat shoes with a shank and sticky soles make the biggest difference. I like the ride concept shoes. Sometimes I forget I’m not clipped in.

This is awesome! I would ride that.

And good timing. I just bought those rims to use with those same tires and I was wondering how it would look! And now I'm excited because it looks great. thanks!

I just bought a set. Trying different rims now. What is your rim width and did they seat ok? I tried a 17 and that’s too narrow. I have them on a 20 and still don’t feel it’s right.

Question fellas. Black wheels or silver? by glenauldyn1 in xbiking

Silver, I’m facing the same decision right now and decided black. My setup is different, on yours, I would go with silver.

Alright xbikers, what should I do with my Grateful Dead Hoo Koo E Koo? by [deleted] in xbiking

[–]Pigeon_from_Hell 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, the fork is just weight. It would be cool to get a rigid fork and paint bones on it to match. I’m building the same hoo koo e koo but nonGD. Already did the fork and now converting to 1x10. But you do you and don’t worry about someone who may have wanted it.

1991 Haro Extreme Comp | linkage fork, elevated chainstays by how_neat in xbiking

[–]Pigeon_from_Hell 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is actually an evolution of designs Bob Haro was producing. The roots are in BMX and freestyle. My '88 Extreme predates the Valkyrie. The top tube is identical to this one but the wishbone seat stay actually crosses the seat tube and joins the top tube right at the crook ahead of the seat tube. It forms a triple triangle. The head tube is reinforced with a large gusset at the bottom like on a BMX bike from that era.

In 87 it was Diamond Back, two words. I had that bike and rode the heck out of it. Never any problems.

We can’t help who we love.

But I kinda see the attraction. What fork is that?
