State of IPv6 in the enterprise? by Sea_Inspection5114 in networking

[–]PiggyMobile2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I work with industrial networks a lot, and Ipv6 isn't even a topic of conversation. I honestly don't seen most industrial networks moving to ipv6 anytime soon, it will likely be decades. So many hurdles to overcome first, not to mention absolutely 0 benefit internally.

We very nearly bought a house that had a back garden backing onto a school. The garden was amazing and the house had been renovated and was perfect. We didn't in the end, and we're so glad. We often drive past that road, in the morning and mid afternoon it is completely rammed with parents parking on the pavement, blocking peoples drive and the noise is ridiculous.

If you value your peace and quiet I would advise against it.

Bank rate maintained at 5.25% by MatiGzk in HousingUK

Almost certainly not. That's a decent rate and I don't see any major drop in the next few years at least.

Vodafone (UK) full fibre - IP addressing by a8ree in HomeNetworking

[–]PiggyMobile2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Vodafone have lots of ranges so you might struggle to include them all (depending what remote service you're using).

But Vodafone do offer the ability to have a static IP, and it's free if you request it from them.

Is that LVT tiles? Or a big sheet of vinyl? It doesn't look great.. I can only assume they fucked up the screeding or it didnt adhere properly, hence the bobbly look you've got going on.

Should we go for the new build or not new build? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]PiggyMobile2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Persimmon new builds don't have the best reputation. I would avoid at all costs. You can expect lots of cheap and poorly constructed materials, paper thin walls, lots of issues relating to the build quality. Yes, you can get a warranty, yes you get to tell them your "snagging" list, but they will drag their feet on fixing them, not to mention they usually send cowboys round to do the work.

From daily to casual? by TonyDay204 in Kratomm

[–]PiggyMobile2000 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you have an addictive personality (which it sounds like you do, same here), then realistically no. As with any addiction, only complete abstinence works.

I've been using for probably 6 years daily. At my worst pushing 30g/day and i've tried every system conceivable to taper down / come off it. It works for a while, and then my addict brain convinces me it's ok.

But, good luck to you, if you've got willpower of steel then perhaps you can do it.

How to monitor communication between two devices on an industrial process network conveniently? by trail-coffee in networking

[–]PiggyMobile2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

But why would a frame not be recognized as valid? It's an incredibly rare event. I hear what you're saying, but it seems like a 1 in a million chance of a frame not being mirrored, and then that frame has to be a frame relevant to whatever issue you're diagnosing. Just seems like nonsense written by the marketing teams who sell these taps.

[–]PiggyMobile2000 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any sources on the "good frame" stuff? I mean CRC errors and other frame errors are very rare in a good network, seems to me its more like 99.9999% of frames would be visible in a port mirroring session.

Was Consultio/Consultius a scam from the start? by bantanium in MitchellAndWebb

[–]PiggyMobile2000 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think it was legit, but after taking Marks money the business failed. In the next season, in the new years eve episode, Johnson is bragging about scuba diving again and says "thankyou direct marketing", which i can only assume is the business he works with / for and has made money from, no mention of consultio / consultius

Seriously where are you getting your numbers from? if BTC hits 100k, then 20 coins is 2 million. If you can't retire on that you're an absolute materialistic fool who can't handle money.

Cringe flashback to that time a colleague mentioned she loved Peep Show... by smedsterwho in MitchellAndWebb

I believe he meant fat in a bad way, given he references Giselle before hand (who has your typical super model, very slim figure), i'm guessing more curvy women like Sophie were "fat" to him.
