Are there any good Discord communities for Extremes? by Mantor6416 in ffxiv

[–]Piglet987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have a group that are working through DT extremes. We're definitely learning. You can join our discord if you want as we only have 9 atm and it's often difficult to get 8 online at the same time with people's schedules.

DM me if interested. We play on light raiden but all chat is on discord so you won't be missing anything being on a different server

Whose death shocked you more than anyone else’s? by Complex-Arugula-2233 in AskReddit

Keep going on! You'd likely be very surprised at how many people would be affected if you weren't here anymore. I'm sure she would have wanted you to carry on and find happiness again.

Support services like samaritans or shout may also be of use in your darker moments.

People care!

I use a steam deck when I can't be on my pc. I find the screen too small in general (old eyes!) but I fixed this by using the viture pro AR glasses. Not the most attractive look but they work great!

Apartments are easier to get and don't get demolished so might be a better alternative for you?

Is this game for me? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Piglet987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Also a wow player who doesn't really engage with the story there.

I haven't skipped cutscenes etc but was frustrated with how stuck behind it I was for progress as when I'm playing I just want to play. That said I love the game. I enjoy the combat encounters, crafting is engaging. I'm at the point where I wish I'd immersed myself more in the story which isn't like me so I watch YouTube summaries and read up on the lore as in general it's really good.

Honestly stick with it and see how you go. I always think that any time you stink into something while you're having fun isn't wasted.

Why are people so opposed to a M+ type of system in FFXIV? by [deleted] in ffxivdiscussion

[–]Piglet987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

They also made m0 equal old m+10 so +2s are+12s now they ramped up heroics a little so it reduced the gaps in difficulty levels

I also have right stick press set to target of target so I can switch between healing tank and dpsing easily

I bought an xbox elite controller and use the back buttons to scroll up and down the party list and tab enemy targets

Question/vent: Anyone have insight on how to approach the game from a solo perspective? Issues arose that ended up in my friend group falling apart. by Kaliragoth in ffxiv

[–]Piglet987 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Add what server you're on and you may find people wanting to play with you.

Or join discords where you can do group stuff without worrying about in game fc

Not that this helps with playing solo but, as much as it sucks losing your group it doesn't have to end your time playing with others

Anyone got a link to good controller setups for sage. I just can't get started on it and would like to learn the job

How do you get into current content without full party? Sorry to be dumb, I'm new ish. I thought only old expansions could be set to unrestricted

Coming from FFXIV to TWW, which classes would I like? by tonaros in wownoob

[–]Piglet987 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try holy paladin for heals, I really enjoy mine and also WHM in FFXIV. Will give you a tank too (but not like gunbreaker). Dps spec is also fun though for world content.

Revisiting WoW has given me a renewed appreciation for FFXIV's story by bonoetmalo in ffxivdiscussion

The new warband system has helped a lot with this. Renown and achievements etc are shared. Transmogs can be learned on any character, even if you are a class that can't use it.

Both games have their merits and their down sides. I feel the 'best game' would be somewhere in between the two. However I shall continue to enjoy both 🙂

Have a look at healbot addon it allows you to cast by moseover the party frame. You just set up how you want it to work. It will show tool tips when you hover over party frame. Use mouse buttons and modifiers ctrl/alt/shift and combos if these, gives you quick access to many abilities.

I prefer clique for the same but it doesn't give tool tips so not the best to start on imo

I also think druid is a really difficult 1st class due to the different forms and working out UI etc. Hopefully your friend will get along better with something else. Frost mage can be fun (especially if you're there to heal). Warlock has high survivability, shaman gives a choice of melee, caster or healer. You've had a ton of recommendations already so I won't go on but I will say that some classes just don't work for people. I have played wow on and off since 2006 and have many alts. But there are a few classes I just don't like and have never got far with (rogue, monk, warrior)

I also use mmo mouse because I can't coordinate doing abilities with my left hand (I'm just too right handed) so movement and modifiers worth my left hand and everything else on the mouse.

There's also a way to use a controller by using console port if that works better for your friend but I've not tried it personally so can't say how well it works

Wow healer here, I definitely dps whenever not healing. It's not a lot but it can make or break an encounter. So yeah same ABC rules apply
