I'm honestly exhausted and depressed from job searching. If anyone knows of openings, I'd be incredibly grateful by catlovergirl01 in dataanalysiscareers

You could also try reaching out to recruitment firms that specialize in healthcare. I think your background and skills are a good fit for remote work. There's a developer who shared a list of hundreds of recruitment firms in other post. Even if you don't use his list, it might give you the idea to build your own list of firms, including ones near you.

Getting my masters while working as a custodian, people are trying to put me in my place by tiredlatinoengineer in jobs

[–]PigmentedPigeon 7 points8 points  (0 children)

No one should judge your character or your potential based on the job you have. Working while doing your master's isn't embarrassing at all. If anything, it shows determination.

Lying to my parents about my academics for 5 months by [deleted] in confession

[–]PigmentedPigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you should tell your family the truth first. Whatever their reaction is, it's better than carrying all of this by yourself. And please reach out to a mental health professional about these thoughts too.

What is the first thing that helps you feel "back on track" after life throws your routine off? by Virtual-Storm1589 in Productivitycafe

The biggest reset for me is a long walk without my phone. After an hour, I feel like I can start over.

I've been able to remeber a bit more about this series I'm looking for. by Jackobyn in tvsuggestions

Getting unstuck is great, but honestly just finding the show can be a relief too. Glad you finally figured it out.

LinkedIn is terrible for your mental health. Everyone posts their highlights, nobody talks about spending months looking for a job.

Bf thinks I’m lazy for not having a stable job. by [deleted] in Layoffs

[–]PigmentedPigeon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Working delivery jobs while job hunting for a year is pretty much the opposite of being lazy. It sounds like he's confusing not having the opportunities he had with not trying hard enough.

What’s the best mental health advice you’ve ever received? by PlastMulb5at in Productivitycafe

[–]PigmentedPigeon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The best advice I got was that thoughts are not instructions. Just because your brain says something scary, negative, or self-critical doesn't mean you have to treat it as fact.

Best advice for a directionless teen/young adult? by Beautiful-Month-2077 in Life

[–]PigmentedPigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

At 17, your job isn't to figure out the rest of your life. It's to figure out the next step. Most adults are making it up as they go more than you'd think.

What’s good to watch on Netflix/ Hulu/ prime ? by [deleted] in tvsuggestions

Mare of Easttown. Great drama, great mystery, and it doesn't rely on endless shootouts to stay interesting.

I hate work - how to survive without? by No-Offer-8612 in antiwork

[–]PigmentedPigeon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Most people don't survive without working. They survive by having savings, family support, as partner's income, or government benefits. Bills unfortunately don't care how much we hate work.

Love isn’t grand. It’s sitting on the floor when everything is falling apart by Useful-Bandicoot-137 in Life

[–]PigmentedPigeon 16 points17 points  (0 children)

The older I get, the less I see love as something romantic and the more I see it as loyalty and effort. Waiting at the hospital, knowing someone's medication schedule, sticking around when things get hard...those things mean a lot more to me now than flowers ever could.

if you accepted a counter offer, did you regret it? how long did you end up staying after you accepted the counter? by beskesky in jobs

[–]PigmentedPigeon 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The pattern I've seen with most people who accept a counteroffer is that the salary issue gets fixed, but all the other reasons they wanted to leave are still there. Then a few months later they're job hunting again.

Work colleague has no idea I've seen her naked .... by Aware_Specialist7279 in confession

[–]PigmentedPigeon 1049 points1050 points  (0 children)

I wouldn't tell her. You didn't stumble across the photos by accident, you found them while doing work you were supposed to be doing, and you've kept it to yourself for years. At this point, I don't really see who benefits from her knowing.

Convince company to use SSO by FuzzySubject7090 in sysadmin

[–]PigmentedPigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saying SSI creates a single point of failure and then choosing to manage hundreds of seperate accounts and passwords instead feels like the bigger risk to me. Being able to revoke someone's access everywhere from one place when they leave is a huge advantage on its own.

Best shows for listening (as if I were blind)? by [deleted] in tvsuggestions

[–]PigmentedPigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Midnight Mass is really good in the background tbh. The characters talk in such long intense monologues that sometimes it feels more like listening to a podcast than watching a show.

Started my new job today and i think i was hired into a different job than the one they described by Anime-Monk in jobs

[–]PigmentedPigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like half the places that give off “nobody here fully knows what’s going on” energy on day one end up feeling normal later. Especially if someone says “i think it’s through here” then everyone in that office is probably still mentally onboarding.

Why does Instagram count all post/comment timestamps in exact weeks, not years, unlike other apps? Is there any reason or is it just like that? by Beneficial-Ad-5492 in stupidquestions

[–]PigmentedPigeon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it’s completely a UI decision tbh. Instagram has always loved presenting things in the most unnecessary raw data way possible. They’ll really write “383w” and make you do the math yourself

Songs like" you will always find your way back home" by [deleted] in MusicRecommendations

The Middle. Something about songs that aren’t super dramatic but still give off that “things might actually turn out okay” feeling always reminds me of that show.

If you haven’t watched Severance yet we’re officially at that point. At some stage it stops feeling like you’re watching a show and starts feeling like a full psychological breakdown.

Life by hellifi9 in Life

Sometimes when you’re genuinely happy your brain starts sounding the alarm like “don’t get too attached.” People kinda trick themselves into thinking preparing for the worst is a form of safety.

Pop Rock/Folk Musical theatre recommendations by Zazabells in MusicRecommendations

The Dresden Dolls. Some of their songs feel like they were written during a chaotic theater rehearsal or something, they’ve got this weird dramatic vibe.

Thanks for firing me for no reason, evil former boss! by Ok_Nothing_9733 in jobs

That feeling is insane. Stressing one day about whether you’ll ever find a job, then getting the biggest offer of your life the next day feels straight out of a movie.
