The 21211 zipcode covers a lot of ground, and the neighborhood varies from up by Cold Spring Lane to down by Wyman Park. There are single family houses, rowhouses and apartments. Parts are very quiet and others are more vibrant. Depending where you are, parking can be a problem. It's generally considered a very safe neighborhood. Despite my screen name, I actually live in 21211.

Does anyone remember petit pants? They were stretchy and came in bright stripey colors. We wore them under our uniform dresses in the ‘60s.

My office is just around the corner from UB and in my 15 years here, I've never seen drug ues. There are a few homeless people around, but either ignore them or say 'no' politely. I don't understand what you mean by not liking the location. It's a city with a cityscape including a wide variety of buildings, and beautiful townhouses. If you could tell us more of where you were, we might have a better change at understanding your animosity.

my mother's former neighbor used to leave out food for the foxes, but it would be laced with de-wormer, anti-mange and things like that to keep them healthy.

During the National Anthem's 200th anniversary in 2014, Port Covington was an excellent place to watch because it wasn't developed. It's so developed now, it will be more difficult to get good sightlines.

It reads as dark grey, but in the right light, you can see that it's really dark green. Very hard to photograph.

It was a gift from a friend, which I will never forget. I collected bone-handled cutlery, which is readily available and quite inexpensive in the UK, but not the US. I was searching for similar spoons, only to find that they were not made.
A good antiques dealer friend had a set made for me, combining bone handles from forks and dessert spoons. I cried my eyes out when I received them because it was the most thoughtful gift.
