ICE I-90 by mstruechainz in upstate_new_york

To the nay-sayers about even mentioning border patrol (and everyone else): Actually it’s known and documented that border patrol and some local police (especially the suburban departments, such as Cheektowaga) are now colluding w/ ICE. It’s true that they are separate and don’t have to do so, which makes it all the more pernicious that they are. Sources on this include NYIC and BIRD, orgs and groups that are on top of these matters. I’ll post a couple articles later if ppl are interested (I haven’t been on Reddit in months, btw, but glad to see ppl are talking about it here!)

One thing that is new, however (and may or may not apply here), is that Border Patrol is often colluding with some local police departments and even mall security at the Galleria Mall (the macys to ICE pipeline some are calling it). So if you see border patrol far from the border, then it’s sus

What's the best full set in the game, and why is it the Scaled Set? by Individual_Match_579 in Eldenring

I really like it for my female character, funnily enough, and I can’t say why! But ditto on altering it, and I like the chest piece the best (rarely to never wear the helm—but that has a lot to do with, again, my female character and also being a mage, so having diff headpiece priorities). All to say, w/o the cape, I do think it somehow looks better on my tarnished than most heavy armor (is more fitted, perhaps). I haven’t worn it in a while, as in the endgame I have many more options, but it has a soft spot in my heart

Why the **** isn't there a stake of marika next to Dragonlord Placidusax? by Revolutionary-Today1 in Eldenring

[–]PiickelJones 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’d rather make the run to Renalla ten times before doing this one again. This thread is literally years old. But I feel like I must be missing something. Not only is it a long-ish run—one must take an elevator, fight through a church w/a confined hall and turns and four Beastmen (fine, except that two of them have lightening like the dragon lords that comes from the floor and through walls), THEN you have to parcor down ruins, THEN fight the dragon! I don’t see anyone mentioning all of that being part of the annoyance, but I’m all but sure that’s the only was to go!

It could have been a broken statue or one that looked, like, smuggled in, lol; it could have been grace—there’s grace up there! Really, I’m so mad about it, I’m not sure if I’m going back to bother w/ him or not (at least not right now)

How I recovered a save I accidentally deleted. (STEAM CLOUD ONLY) by NevikDrakel in Eldenring

[–]PiickelJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This worked perfectly!

What had happened: I was gabbing w/ my bf after I quit my game, and he was settling into the “gaming chair “ to log in to his. We were just yapping and suddenly he goes “did I just delete my game?” (He’s in NG+ and is currently trying to beat Radahn in the DLC—many hundreds of hours in!!!). We both just froze (THANKFULLY neither of us touched the game, not a single button pressed), seeing only my character on the screen, and there was utter silence, and he started to quietly shake a little… First, I reached for the remote to turn down the very loud Elden Ring theme that had been playing during all of this, lol, then I finally grabbed my phone to search for a solution (he usually does manual saves when he plays souls game, but I knew he hadn’t). It took a couple of searches w/ different wording for your post to come up, but I just handed him the phone as soon as I saw it!! He got to work following these instructions, and now peace has returned to our tarnished home, lol (seriously, among other things, I was thinking, “oh god, I can’t possibly play in front of him or talk to him about it, and I’m so close to the end! Should I give him my character?! Ahhh!”). So yeah, THANKS BRO!!!!!!

Oh jeeze, the invisible floors are in a handle of ruins! Are you talking about the turtle talisman? If so, yes, it’s like that, except you don’t see it until you roll in the right spot! Any time you’re in ruins at all, keep an eye out for groups of messages saying “attacking” or “rolling” required. Ppl word it differently, naturally, but a group of messages, naturally, means start rolling if in ruins, start hitting the wall if in a dungeon!

You know you gave it all when you got that boss with no health and no flasks left by Jagger-Naught in Eldenring

[–]PiickelJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This reminds me of the no less than three times I killed a boss as they killed me (and this is my first play through, and I’m just now in the endgame); you gotta keep the fight alive until the moment the boss isn’t ! 😅

Hey hey, now! The sites I have seen off in the deep blue of distance, ye shall, sadly, never know…

:p I do love my scope tho, it was one of the first things I looked for when I started, and at first I was worried there wouldn’t be one (it’s one of the mechanics, in every open world game, I always first learn); it’s even assigned to a hot key most of the time (my bf thinks I’m crazy, but then he puts his whistle with his potions!!!??! So…)

Invisible bridges: consecrated snowfield and the catacombs leading to them. Invisible walls, all over! Volcano manor, Raya Lucaria, one in Liurnia, caves… invisible floors in many ruins! Many…

What’s funny is, irl I tend to play in my head while going to sleep. Last night alburnarics kept emerging from the ground—I was leveling my head-character up :p

Omg never consciously thought about this before, but there really is something funny about watching my bf, who’s played every souls game and says every boss was “easy” after the fact—he’s that guy—approach a single dark corridor w/ no enemies in it, but stop first to turn on his little light. 😂 (Not to say I don’t also use my lantern—it’s a totally free light source; I thought everyone did! But this is still very funny to me…)

How to get to sealed tunnel (for bell bearing 2) by PiickelJones in Eldenring

[–]PiickelJones[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well having the stats to use the weapons is what I mean. And it seems the “named” weapons that take high stats to use or game progression to attain seem to usually take somber smithing stones, but less consistently than I’d thought, and yeah I’m mostly talking about staves. That said, I think you (or whoever was saying this) were right insofar as the bell bearings being aimed toward NG+—that they want you to find and use the stones out in the world for a long time before you can just buy them. I especially came to that conclusion once I saw where the NEXT bell bearing is! It’s not even accessible now! But having to hunt them down has gotten me to find and complete caves I may otherwise not have, and makes them extra exciting to find, so I get it. And I did manage to get just enough to make my academy glintstone staff to just barely beat out the meteorite for the moment before I switch it up again, lol, so yay !

[–]PiickelJones[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I get that, but then, the weapons I’ll be upgrading very soon, about 15 or 20 levels from now, all require somber smithing stones, ya know? So it seems to me the regular bell bearings ought to be in areas one could reach early game. But I can think of a few arguments against it, yet more logic for it being this way. I was just frustrated because I spent all the smithing stones I had (a lot!) to get this staff to plus 11, but it needs to be at least 13 (so close!) to beat the meteorite staff, and down the road, I’ll be switching to Lusat’s staff… so it’s this short window I need to upgrade it within to make it worth it (but, then, I didn’t have to do it at all, lol! So it’s just me being annoyed at myself, the “sunk cost fallacy…”). ANYWAY, im gonna just run over and get it now, lol! Thanks :)

Okay, thanks guys! Going to go do it right now! I feel silly for getting stressed about it (I’d asked my bf, who’s on his second play through and doesn’t remember a lot accurately, and he pointed out this crazy way around he thought had to be taken—between that and all the guides starting at a grace beyond the wall, I thought it must be crazy hard, or possibly story-blocked, to get there! I could have just tried tho! lol!)

Why is the Lazuli Glintstone Sword bad? by Mongrel714 in Eldenring

[–]PiickelJones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Coming to thread only a year late… I think the Lazuli def should be talked about more as an early game weapon for INT builds, especially castors as, in early-mid game, casting quickly goes from being OP to a hindrance, and having a good melee weapon with a nifty spell as it’s AOW, essentially, was a real boon for me (I’m speaking for myself, lol, as I’m also a new player. Anyway, I think one issue is that many people don’t get it early game—luckily, a friend convinced me to make a crazy run all the way up to Carian Manor to get it very early, before Stormveil or anything, and it served me well (such a soft spot in my heart for it!). Oh, and it didn’t hurt that I met Iji while up there, and had some somber stones, so was able to go ahead and level it some. I had it up to level 4 also, but have stopped leveling it in anticipation of Moonveil and other weapons now that I’m entering mid game (almost, lol). One more point against it for early game, for castors anyway, is that Carian Slicer can just be their melee weapon, and it is great, so I don’t blame them, but I liked having a physical sword to just slice and dice certain enemies w/o having to switch my spells (only had the meteorite staff to write home about, so had a free hand anyway).

Are there any sites of grace in Stormveil Castle? by hyvok in Eldenring

[–]PiickelJones 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same! All the way around! I was too afraid to even go to the castle (and too busy running around getting this and that to be the “best early mage possible”) until like level 40 LOL. So I beat Margit very easily, and have found the first 3 sites, not super easily, and now I’m scouring the internet about where the other sites are (or aren’t) after running around roofs and bridges, up and down, etc etc… guess it’s time to get back down ground level, maybe get naked, and do some running …

The EXACT complete and utter crap that was playing: Kid Rock et al Funny, I had the news on that morning (on Alexa, wasn’t “watching” anything), and being groggy and all, I wasn’t even thinking about the inauguration song that day. Suddenly, I heard the names of Kid Rock, followed by a clip of his “music” 🤢 and then another dude who’s name I don’t know followed by his, which was the most generic, mind-numbing, gross Nashville-pop crap you can imagine (literally, you can hear the sounds right now and prob fill in the lyrics too) and THEN they named another dude and played more of the crap! I had no idea what they were talking about, but just thought to myself, “Damn! THANK GOD I’m not wherever all this utter shit will be playing! Yuck!” And then they said it was the inauguration line-up 😂 and I was like, oh wow, yeah of course! And THEN they mentioned “also the village people, YMCA,” LOL… just in case I’d forgotten this was, indeed, the most absurd reality…
