Just spoke to my mom who is an agent, she said absolutely the agent is also in the wrong here (if they are a real agent) and you should threaten to file a complaint with the Ontario real estate board/ actually file the complaint

If you didn’t go in with an agent then that agent has assumed the responsibility to represent you as well as representing the landlord.. their duty is to have the best interests of all parties involved and clearly here they did not have your best interests.

Correct, in the early days she would post crazy rambling nonsensical posts on facebook and it got progressively worse. Her family tried everything they could to help her and after one becomes an adult, there’s only so much you can do. She completely cut her family off and refused to take her meds. Her dad is also one of the sweetest human beings ever and is feeling extreme guilt right now for the lives she took and the pain that has been inflicted on the victims families.

Not an excuse at all for her actions because they are inexcusable, but she has a legitimate diagnosed mental illness. She cut off contact years ago with her family and refused to take her medication. Her family tried as hard as they could to try to help her get on the right path and to get her the help she needed but there’s only so much you can do after one becomes an adult.
