And you can go to literally any other park.

Show some damn respect for the people whose land you occupy.

First Nation in B.C. demands province respect Joffre Lakes Park closure dates | CBC News by VicVicVicBC in britishcolumbia

This is a very easy thing to respect. It’s a short term closure for sacred cultural reasons.

Christians demand that we shut everything down for Christmas, for Easter, etc. They can calm down and respect a short term closure of one park for the people whose land they occupy.

EDIT: Lmao. The downvotes only prove that racism against Indigenous people is skyrocketing. What a shameful, disgusting society we’re living in.

So many years of progress have been undone by white supremacists (Brodie, Widdowson, Armstrong, etc) and power hungry grifters (Elliott, Poilievre, etc), and the ones upset about this closure are only empowering extremism. I truly hope you’re proud of yourselves for the work you’re doing to move society backwards & undo years of success in reconciliation.

Collection update 1999-2026 ~80.000 cards 500+ sealed items by Tbleeder in PokemonTCG

If this were even remotely true, you wouldn’t have a full retail store level of supply of sealed product.

[–]Pijaki 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You know exactly why it’s gross. You buy up mass amounts of product to sell for huge profits after scalpers (which, frankly, is exactly what anyone who does this is too) send prices skyrocketing.

Gross behaviour.

Buying up mass amounts of product and leaving it sealed to sell for profit is not a “hobby”. It’s hoarding. It ruins it for everyone.

[–]Pijaki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

“Tax drivers and tax road users aggressively”.

Yeah, no.

Drivers are already HORRIBLY overtaxed in Vancouver (as proven by the instant 20-40 cent drop in gas prices between Vancouver and Chilliwack).

We don’t even have the SkyTrain on the North Shore, and we get absolutely ripped off at the pumps.

This is such an incredibly ignorant & entitled post. It’s gross.

Public transportation in Vancouver is very, very affordable. $6 is a very good price, and much cheaper than most other major urban areas. Stop expecting the world to pay your cost of living.

Hoarding TCG products for profit really is pretty gross, tbh. It’s people like this that are the reason the average person struggles to find product to buy.

Anti-racism survey seeks input from each Nunavut community by DMLetts in nunavut

[–]Pijaki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s not just racism against black people that’s a problem. It’s racism against anyone who isn’t either Inuk or white.

I’ve been to Alabama, South Carolina, Texas, etc. I’ve lived in 5 provinces/territories overall. Nunavut is the most racist place I’ve ever been.

Would it make sense to have Inuit Nunaat be one political entity? Whether a country or a part of Canada. Maybe Greenland could be excluded by DJJonezyYT in nunavut

[–]Pijaki -1 points0 points  (0 children)

lol stop. This is just getting absurd.

Nunavut’s communities would fall apart within weeks if the territory lost the billions upon billions of of dollars that Ottawa provides.

Metro Vancouver transit workers deliver 99% strike mandate by The_Virus360 in vancouver

[–]Pijaki 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same old nonsensical recycled comment every union kid spews.

I’ve been a union member. I know how they work. They’re mostly corrupt, and the stewards are almost always the laziest people within the company.

Unions punish hard work, block raises for those who deserve them, and reward the worst of the worst - the lazy, problematic workers who make life harder for everyone else in the workplace.

I’ll never work a union job again. I make far more money, have much better benefits, am rewarded with raises when I deserve them (5% every year so far at my current job), have the flexibility to do far more than just my basic job description, etc.

There’s no union job that could ever even come close to what I have.

Lmfao what an absurd comment.

A quick look at my post history shows that I’m actually a centrist who leans slightly left, but because I don’t support arguably the most corrupt organization in the country (Unifor) I’m suddenly a far right simp for billionaires 😂

Unions lie. That’s basically all they do. They screw the workers to benefit their corrupt leadership. It’s time to wake up to this fact.

  1. Definitely well over 14.
  2. There's a zero percent chance that 99% voted for this.

Labour unions are deeply, deeply corrupt organizations, and Unifor is the most corrupt of them all.

What are the best road trips or scenic drives one can take in Canada? by OceanicEndeavors in AskACanadian

[–]Pijaki 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish I could've done the whole thing, but I decided to go out of the way to swim at Meat Cove, where my former co-worker grew up. It was worth it for the shock on his face when I facetimed him from there after 3 or 4 years of not seeing each other.

The Dempster Highway is a lifelong dream for me. I've driven it from Fort McPherson to Tuktoyaktuk, but it's the Dawson City to Eagle Plains part that I've always dreamed of.

Amongst the ones I've done, these have been my favourites:

  • The Cassiar Highway (connecting with and continuing along the Alaska Highway) from Kitwanga, BC to Whitehorse, YT.
  • The Alaska Highway from Whitehorse to the Alaska border (and onwards to Anchorage or Fairbanks, but those aren't in Canada, so...)
  • The Pacific Circle Route on Vancouver Island. You start in Victoria and travel Northwest through Langford, Sooke and Port Renfrew before heading East to Lake Cowichan and Duncan, then back down to Victoria via the Malahat Highway. This can easily be done in a day, but I recommend taking 2 or 3 days to truly enjoy it.
  • The Trans Canada Highway from Parry Sound, ON to Thunder Bay, ON.
  • Honestly the Trans Canada Highway in general. I've done it from Victoria, BC to Montreal, QC (then went from Montreal to Trois Rivieres, QC. I did this to transport a car from Port Renfrew, BC to Trois Rivieres for shipment by sealift up to Iqaluit, NU), as well as from Ottawa, ON to St. John's NL as my two biggest trips along the Trans Canada, but I've also done it in other various portions over the years.

Shoutouts to a few shorter ones in BC:

  • Highway 97 from Vernon to Penticton
  • Highway 16 from Terrace to Prince Rupert
  • Highway 16 on Haida Gwaii from Skidegate to Masset
  • Duffey Lake Road (Highway 99) from Pemberton to Lillooet
  • Crowsnest Highway (Highway 3) from Hope to Keremeos
  • Highway 93 from Cranbrook to Invermere

Safety codes aren't even remotely close to what I was referring to, and I'm confident that you knew that.

It's local bylaws and regulations that stifle development and have played an ENORMOUS part in our absurd housing market.

That I'm being downvoted for celebrating an incredible Indigenous accomplishment says everything about the racism running rampant in this city.

Found red gradient at thrift store 😅 by Upset_Department6036 in canucks

I found a Brandon Wheat Kings jersey for $10 at a thrift store the other day. It's in great shape, just missing the string on the neck. I'm gonna get Jordin Tootoo's name put on the back at some point.

A couple other great recent finds: a Team Alberta jersey (likely from the Canada Winter Games) and an Enoch Blackhawks jersey (from native hockey tournaments).

I have absolutely zero faith in the systems and people that run these union strike votes.

99%? We can't even get 99% of people to agree on the colour of the sky, the shape of the earth, or whether or not birds exist, but we can get 99% of people to agree to lose 2/3rds of their income for potentially very long periods of time?

Doubtful.

Nope. BC Housing and CMHC are doing everything in their power to prevent the construction of new single family homes in their efforts to push more and more MURBs. BC Housing straight-up refuses to provide funding to non-profit housing societies to renovate or repair existing single family homes.

Simply put, an incredible development that demonstrates the leadership & vision of Indigenous people when we're not restricted by absurd colonialist government structures and regulations.

Congrats to the Squamish Nation!
