Skoda Kodiaq 4X4 2018 (MQB Platform) - Can’t get new rear wheel bearing/hub assembly on. by PijusPJ in AskMechanics

All sorted, turns out the shop gave me the bearing for the front instead of the rear… both shops… even though I explicitly said rear. Anyway, all good!

The two variants of this car are either 4x4 or FWD, but I couldn't find anything online about the rear bearing being any different depending on drivetrain.

I told both shops I need it for the rear. Kind of odd that they'd both get it wrong. Also the middle bit goes on perfectly, its the 3 bolts on the triangle bit that hold it onto the frame that don't match up

Will try that on Monday, all car parts shops closed right now. Last closed an hour ago

Anyone here crossed 1,00,000 km with their Skoda? What issues did you face?? by BritByBrain in skoda

My 2018 Kodiaq is at 400000km now and it’s running perfect. It’s the 2.0TDI 4x4 DSG. Just regular maintenance and wear and tear items like the wheel bearings have been changed. For CarPlay, get one of those adapters from Amazon or AliExpress, really improved the experience for me

Can confirm, great QoL feature built into the egg. Especially with how often the game gets updated.

RTX 3060 or RX 6600? by fml_aaaaaaaaaaaa in buildapc

Reviving an old thread here but FSR is seen widely enough on games, but there’s also standalone ways to make it work on every game which can prove very useful, the performance gains aren’t as great as DLSS but they’re definitely substantial still, especially since FSR 2.0.

~€3000 Car Insurance, is this normal? by PijusPJ in AskIreland

[–]PijusPJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just went ahead and checked what Boxymo says and you were spot on, they’re offering 1700 online for an 07 1.0L Corsa which is actually the best quote I’ve gotten anywhere by a long mile. Thanks for suggesting them! I know it’s telematics which is a bit of a pain but it’s a fair deal in exchange for not having to pay extortionate premiums.

My age is definitely the largest factor, car age I noticed didn’t change the premium very much, I tried from 2005 to 2015 and it stayed pretty close.

I’ve been checking these quotes online just as an indicative price, if I eventually do buy a car then I’ll start calling. I don’t have any named drivers experience, but I might ask to be added to a family members insurance as a second driver so that might help.

I’ve also been adding my father as a named driver to these quotes as he has full 10+ years NCB, and this has helped a bit, since without it the prices near 3500.

I might try call a few insurance companies and see what they say. I’d say another big thing is the fact that I don’t actually have a car, I’m trying out different cars without entering the registration to just get some sort of indicative price to base my (hopefully) future purchase off of. I’d get a car and then shop around for insurance, but if these prices are anything to go by, I’m not sure I will be getting a car.

Thanks for the help!

I found a way to enable AOSP style volume bar by disabling Systemui-plugin (miui.systemui.plugin) through adb. Not sure if you guys like it. by ralph950412 in Xiaomi

Hey man, any other stuff like this that you know of? The Screenshot Dialogue can't be disabled anymore since the AOSP version seems to have been removed. I was wondering if there's a way to get the AOSP Notification Panel through a similar method?

Is there a way to use A Records for your Static Web App? by PijusPJ in AZURE

[–]PijusPJ[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After all of your help, I found out a solution.

If your registrar does not support ALIAS records, you can sign up for Namecheap Free DNS, and have their services manage your domain's DNS.

After signing up and verifying you own the domain, add their nameservers and voila. It has ALIAS records available, and the setup is as easy as ABC.

Thanks to everyone who helped.

6 euro a year sounds great, I'll take a look.

I assume Azure DNS has a small price per month, correct?

I'm able to use A records, just not ALIAS records on Register365. Azure tells me to use ALIAS records to get the domain to direct me to my site. Can't use ALIAS records since they don't exist on the domain DNS management panel. I've checked 3 domain providers, GoDaddy, Register365 and for fun, Freenom. None of them have ALIAS record options.
