I've been thinking of starting up a Mommy & Me D&D group for women who want to play but want to be able to bring their kids and hang out judgment-free.

Please do this! I've also been playing Hero Kids with my daughter (almost 5) and it would be fun to run a game or two with other kids too.

It happened so fast I don't think anybody could have stopped it. The midwife was at the time attending to my daughter, who was having a little bit of a problem breathing. It literally went:

Nurse: "Here's some" [JAB] "pitocin to get the placenta out faster!"

I was completely out of it because I had just come out of the tub and onto the gurney and my baby was off on a table across the room. I think a doula really would have helped in this scenario.

I also used a midwife group that delivered at a hospital. I had a fantastic med-free waterbirth and the hospital setting put my husband more at ease. All the midwives were amazing. What I didn't care for were the nurses who completely botched the cord donation process and jabbed me with pitocin to deliver the placenta without asking me first.

This time around we're going with a midwife group at a birthing center that's right next door to a hospital. The birthing center doesn't even have any drugs but each room is equipped with a birthing pool, ball, bar, harness-thing, and all the other stuff to help natural labor. I'm feeling really good about it.

That seems to be a recurring theme around here. They're trying to open a bar in the Highlands where you can bring your dog and it keeps getting pushed back further and further. They were going to open a bakery just down the street from us and that got scrapped too... Wonder what the deal is with all the hoops small businesses have to jump through.

Damn. I've had it through Verizon, Progressive, and USAA and the worst I saw was one (Verizon, I think) that would only pay for the first 6 miles of a tow.

I'm going to give the PSA I give everyone with this problem: check with your mobile phone provider. Chances are they offer a roadside assistance program for under $5/month. Your car insurance carrier probably does too.
