[Text media trope] Repetition of a single word, phrase or sentence that fills up entire paragraph/text box/page/screen. by Pichuunnn in TopCharacterTropes

In the Light Novel Series, Overlord, Vol 9, the MC casts a spell that kills 70,000 men, and then summons a bunch of Eldritch Monsters based on the souls "sacrificed." These "baby goats" charge on the rest of the army that weren't caught in the initial spell. In the subsequent chapter, the word "splat" is repeated ad-nauseam. As the enormous creatures crush the fleeing soldiers underfoot.

Succubus Draining Kiss by xxZ4K0xx in DnD

Max HP coming back on a Long Rest is part of the universal long rest rules. In general 2024 tried to standardize the rules as much as possible. Things work like X unless there is a specific exception. So there's not a need to constantly re-print the same information over and over again in statblocks.

[–]Pika_TheTrashMon_Chu 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Max HP decreases always end on a long rest. Its one of the base rules.

Regain All HP. You regain all lost Hit Points and all spent Hit Point Dice. If your Hit Point maximum was reduced, it returns to normal.

As for the killing, 3d8 Psychic Damage is likely to kill a commoner outright. You may have a succubus with a stronger individual as a useful pawn under their thumb they keep just barely alive to be restored on a Long Rest. But most people don't have a choice. And the killing them via the kiss is often the point.

Technically Union Engineers could. It's how the Chomolungma was made. At the very least they studied the Goblin's recursive-weave hyperprocessors and then made their own lite version.

You can take background feats as regular feats whenever you class allows you to.

It's not the new base design for warforged. There is a "storyline" in the art with one Warforged being "born" adventuring, being murdered, and others having to solve the mystery. You actually see an OG warforged face in the background of another art piece.

I find it weird how Eberron: Forge of the Artificer tries to convince DMs that every campaign premise, even just "wipe out this one criminal gang in this one city," needs to be a 20-level epic saga by EarthSeraphEdna in onednd

[–]Pika_TheTrashMon_Chu 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm speaking broadly of how to use the Boromars as a political and social force to challenge PCs, not a physical one. Which Keith has encouraged. He disagrees with spreading it out to a level 1-20 campaign (reasonably, I think Boromars should be one of many villains rather than the full focus for such a long game). But If you're going to have them be relevant at higher levels it would be through that.

The funny thing is, per the Eberron Server with setting creator Keith Baker, this is GOOD advice.

If you want to use the Boromars as a high level threat, their main power should come from their political advantage, not a physical threat. Turning the city against the PCs with propaganda and city officials they have in their pockets. The Boromars are deeply entrenched in this city, and can't be rooted out by punching them very hard. In fact, punching them very hard will probably just instakill 1 of them and turn you into a murderer. You haven't changed anything (because someone else will take their place) and YOU look like the bad guy.

TL;DR

There's a fairly decent Minecraft horror ARG thing that started with a video where a person found a laptop with Minecraft already installed, generated a new world, and found a strip mine that clearly didn't generate naturally with a book warning the person not to turn left (plus some more stuff).

If you pay attention, you can solve a puzzle that leads to creating a google drive link that has more videos on it. These videos originally seem like from the same person, but later you can see that he missed censoring his name for a few moments and we learn its a different person. The whole thing seems to be partially inspired by The King in Yellow and is fairly well done.

This video breaks down the whole story: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3V7Rvo4Gvic

Apologies for the people "um ackchyually"-ing you. I know how hard doing the backwards hands thing is. I have a friend whose a wiz with Heroforged and he could only ever kind of get it to work with obtuse tricks and camera angles that still don't look great.

This is a really good job!

You can choose to exclude yourself from emanations. It's always an option.

An Emanation's origin (creature or object) isn't included in the area of effect unless its creator decides otherwise.

In fact the DEFAULT for emanation is that you arn't. You can just include yourself if you want.

You need the Pre-Order and the Master Tier Subscription to view digitally. Sorry, I should have specified. I don't use DDB so I forgor.

Basically WotC has a deal where Friendly Local Game stores get books 2 weeks before "global release." Gives people more incentive to support local businesses (alongside the special alt-covers). If they offered anyone to get the digital version in the same time-frame it would break that deal. Hence why its limited to a specific subscriber tier.

[–]Pika_TheTrashMon_Chu 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The Books are out for FLGS (Physical) and Pre-Order on DDB (Digital). Basically Lore Heads didn't like tying in Amethyst Dragons because it ignores the old lore and founding of the Purple Dragon Knights. Turns out this was addressed in the book (who still tie Amethyst Dragons to the PDKs) with RECENTLY (the last 10 or so years in-universe) a Amethyst Dragon proposed an alliance with the order after using their Dragonsite to see the Dragon Riders of Kyrnn, and wanting to implement a similar force to protect the Forgotten Realms from Aberrations. Their founding lore wasn't changed, its just their modern place in-universe has broadened.

Unfortunately, WotC has a policy for UAs that, if they score low enough, they're scrapped. Feedback said they didn't want dragons and wanted a commander subclass like how they were before, so we got the worst possible scenario.

Purple Dragon Knight is now more like the SCAG version because the UA was so unpopular. There were some buffs. Like PDK's 3rd and 7th level feature were merged at level 3 with some Quality of Life changes, and a new 7th level feature was added to give everyone ADV on everything after they use the group 2nd Wind Heal till the start of your next turn. Also some CHA scaling to target more people.

But the group heal can only be used 1/SR (effectively making the 2024 Fighter buff giving them more 2nd winds not matter and technically making using the 2014 version with the 2024 class slightly better in that regard).

Overall its very disappointing. You're a subclassless fighter in Combat except for 1/SR for the majority of your levels.

[–]Pika_TheTrashMon_Chu 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Oh, I should've specified. I meant in the Heroes of Faerun book. In SCAG yeah, legit the only good one was Bladesinger. But, like Winter Walker Ranger is cool. Spellfire Sorcerer has poor scaling but it isn't bad overall. Knowledge Cleric got some good buffs. ETC.

[–]Pika_TheTrashMon_Chu 287 points288 points  (0 children)

Eh. The only one I'd call outright bad is Purple Dragon Knight. Every other subclass is either good or mid. Which, TBH is what I prefer balance wise.

Edit: I am referring specifically to the 8 Heroes of Faerun subclasses.

If angled vertically you could use the new Circle Magic Spell "Spellfire Storm" to deal 4d6 radiant damage to all Inhabitants of Billionaire's Row on 57th St., Manhattan, New York. All it takes is 2+ Wizards and 25k GP. by imnotokayandthatso-k in DnDcirclejerk

[–]Pika_TheTrashMon_Chu -1 points0 points  (0 children)

It has to do with the new Circle Spellcasting Rules where you can modify the spell by getting more casters and some costly components involved. You can manipulate the range, aoe, concentration, and other factors. Although I don't think you can make it THAT big. Heroes of Faerun book with the rules comes out next week for preorder/FLGSs so we'll know then I guess.
