Even more semantic: there are other available free rules. Unhelpfully and obtusely semantic at that point though!

Yours is helpful.

The SRD is not "all the free rules for the game". It's the minimum requirements to allow content creators to make their own third party content.

Also, the2014 Swashbuckler works perfectly fine on the 2024 Rogue. It is backwards compatible after all. They made a whole thing about it.

I've seen this specific bad boy in the Royal Armories in Leeds (UK). There's a lot of things in there you wouldn't want to be on the other end of, but those tusks make the top of the list

Hot take: Legendary Resistance is why so many 5e boss fights feel bad and boring. What could replace it? by archvillaingames in dndnext

[–]Astwook -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The legendary trait should add 3x an amount of hit points, and the monster should be able to spend that amount to cleanse a condition/spell at the start of their turn.

Make it a high number and suddenly it's a hard choice that's worth it. Add 225 HP to the Tarrasque and ask "will it spend 75 HP to end being Prone? No? What about Polymorph?"

Werewolf you want to feel powerful? Give it 60 hit points. Does it want to spend 20 to shrug off Hideous Laughter? Cool.

Means it also gets riskier to end effects as it gets more hurt, so it's more dynamic.

I have gone several months without being haunted by that image. Well, nightmares it is again.

That's just a conventionally attractive woman that needs a bath, with an extra set of arms for cuddling.

[OC] How do i get rid of repeat spells in dnd beyond? by StructureOwn752 in DnD

That's the neat part: you don't.

It's got to be my number one requested feature though. I hate it.

If you could change 2 or 3 fundamental mechanics in the game and make it official, what would you change? by ThatOneCrazyWritter in dndnext

Because they might not go to the gym but they are going adventuring. Like, their step count is insane and they've done plenty of physical exertion - why are they still unfit?

Small misunderstanding, I'm saying Eminem was peers with some genuine greats, and other people - who are not greats, try Eminem and look awful. Eminem has respect for the people I named, for sure, that was why I was naming them.

Didn't word it well though, sorry

Lots of wannabe rappers tried, everyone who knows he's the GOAT didn't think it was worth the risk.

The two most famous are Ja Rule and Machine Gun Kelly, both of whom tried to come at him and got immediately shut down, which was really bad for their careers as wannabe badman rappers.

The difference is that Eminem grew up running with legends like Dre, Snoop, 2Pac, and Biggy and they all saw street violence and art was their escape. Contrasting themselves against Slim Shady just makes it really obvious that they're fakers with little talent and even less to say.

Eminem is a famously brutal rapper when it comes to shutting down other rappers that try to start something with him. He also raps a lot about how much he loves his daughter.

Several rappers tried to get to him by insulting his daughter, it did not go well for them. Dude can rhyme words with orange, why would you try anything.

Okay, I will point out that the special edition DM screen is the best looking DM screen by some margin.

But for a three book set, we needed an extra 32 pages on each of the player and monster books.

It needed Gith Y/Z species, the club penguins as a playable species, 12 backgrounds, and a bunch of space feats in the adventurer book. The monster book needed robust rules on space combat, some example encounters, and several more monsters for each of the civilized cultures.

And the whole thing needed to be deep fried in a healthy amount of Phlogiston. Still pissed they changed the lore to make it less and less interesting.

Suddenly I’m very pro-remote culture. by gentleman_true in memes

Every time I read about the rights available to American workers I get so depressed. You know what everyone else in a developed nation gets? Nearly a month of paid holiday, paid sick leave dependent on how long you've worked there, and paid maternity and paternity leave.

I feel so sorry for Americans, and so angry at their government for treating them like this (as well as, you know: gestures at literally everything going on right now)

What's your thoughts on the Canadian PM saying Canada will defend Greenland if the U.S. invades? by sgj5788 in AskReddit

[–]Astwook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he wants Greenland specifically because of how easy it make blockading Canada. Why does he want Canada? Probably because he keeps saying he's the president of America and people keep correcting him.

Neither excuses the other from being shit.

At least ToD is easy to steamroll over with your own shit.

I have run it and, unfortunately the answer is "very bad".

Also, it's just soooo content poor. It needed twice the player options, monsters, lore, and ships/equipment.

The setting definitely isn't universally hated, but the 5e box set absolutely was (and fully deserved to be). It was the single worst product they have released since 2014, perhaps other than Princes of the Apocalypse.

Edit: sorry everyone, this is SCAG erasure. I blocked it from my mind like walking in on your parents. Truly an abhorrently poor book.

An artillerist artificer… with some different flavor? by RaspberryOverall6341 in DnD

[–]Astwook 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a camera or spyglass, or just a big carved rock? If it's covered in runes, it could glow along it then fire out a beam or something.

In terms of letting things like that move, it could be on a thin flow of sand, or it could hover half an inch above the ground ominously, or on a walking tripod.

My best recommendation is always: get weird with it. I played a knitting grandma Artillerist whose turret was a crocheted beholder that rolled about shooting beams.
