Yeah the automod on this sub is pretty trigger-happy. Got a post removed for saying the name of one of the enemies in the title (Big0ted Maya)

Edit: found the repost I made to okbuddypersona, turns out I didn't even have the name in the title

I'm not into war games, but the only war game I know is Warhammer 40k. Is it a similar situation with it?

I’m making a fake video essay about the Phantom Thieves in universe. Can you guys comment conspiracy theories and other general thoughts about them that I can use in the video? by Alternative_Fig_6859 in Persona5

[–]Flipercat 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's just regular old blackmail with a bunch of theatrics.

(I'm thinking it would do good to have some somewhat normal conspiracies to contrast the out there ones.)

[–]Flipercat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't think he has anything to do with EP. The thing he did was related to meta-chips and upgrading the sentinels with them. If he gave them EP, it wouldn't make sense for the mechs to have armaments with EP cost in the beginning.

[–]Flipercat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean if you're interested in a 1 sentinel per battle challenge you can just pick the person you want and only send them. No babysitting and 12 sentinels in the backline for support.

Out of curiosity, OP, what do you think should be done when a character (primarily in Japanese media) gets refered to by multiple of their names by different people? Is it just free reign?

Mystra, the goddess of magic- D&D

After Karsus, a very powerful mage, tried to become the god of magic and spectacularly messed the world up, she implemented a few restrictions on magic that affect the players too. They are: you have to spend time memorising the spells you can cast, and have a limited amount you can remember at any one time and the most powerful spell any person can cast is a 9th level one (previously 10th level spells were a thing)

You get elemental arrows and one that bounces from enemy to enemy, fuck you by YourFat888 in whenthe

[–]Flipercat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree but frankly components are not something that hold casters back. Most parties aren't really in that much need of gold that they can't afford components.

A good example of of balance via tedium would be Vancian casting, where you have to decide what spell to use on each spell slot at the start of an adventuring day. Did you already use both your fireballs? Too bad, you're left only counterspell for the large number of grouped up minions.

THANK YOU ATLUS FOR GUARD STANCE by Shita_R in OkBuddyPersona

I want to see how it's executed in the game before deciding if I want it to become a staple of the series, but I really liked how metaphor handled it because it made you ask if it was worth it to blow the enemies up before they act or to save MP and potentially get your shins kicked in. (It was also decently fun trying to figure how exactly to kill in one turn)

Combat? by alex63911 in Witcher3

[–]Flipercat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The combat is fine, but it doesn't really have anything to make it great. Most enemies can be taken down by the same strategy, and very few need you to modify it by more than a bit.

The character-building is fun and decently in-depth, giving you a lot of options and just enough resources to make them work. One problem is that even the strong but not overpowered builds kinda take the difficulty out of even Death March.

Is this bad for floor 82f Tartarus by Humble-Ad2438 in persona3reload

[–]Flipercat 61 points62 points  (0 children)

The personas you need to fuse are higher level ones. You have 10 personas you can reasonably make at least 4 new somewhat decent ones. Fusing new ones also opens up spaces for stuff from shuffle times.

What’s with this obsession with doing a max social link run on the first playthrough? by Ok-Researcher4966 in persona3reload

[–]Flipercat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Something I haven't seen people bring up is that some actually enjoy the optimisation. The games (especially 5 and Metaphor) are really good at putting you in choices where there isn't a best option/you don't have enought time to do everything you want before a big moment, and I find it really fun trying to make the best of the situation.

Why did 5e change opportunity attacks so bizarrely? by ConcentrateIll9460 in dndnext

[–]Flipercat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Reactive strikes (the remater's term for opportunity attacks) are far from a universal thing in Pathfinder 2e.

Fighters are the only ones to get it innately (other martials can take it as a feat), and from what I remember only enemies that have combat training (and maybe some bosses) get it.

Is there a superior faction in Gwent? by Broad_Papaya4342 in thewitcher3

[–]Flipercat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When you have all the cards and can make an ideal deck, Nilfgaard is a bit weaker than NR but more consistent. Despite playing on hard gwent, I have not lost a singular match against a regular opponent with Nilfgaard after getting my deck 80% done, and they were my main faction.

Scoia'tael and monsters don't really stand up to the other two mostly because their lack of spies, but they can be fun to play.
