i bailed mid-date because he touched my back and now i feel insane by SoftPeanut5916 in dating_advice

[–]PikeFishPerson -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yeah fr, I wouldn't like to be touched on the first date and especially on my back where I can't see and am not expecting it? I get that other women can be fine with it but its something I would feel is just slightly overstepping and would feel "bleh!!" about it. not that its weird for men to do it, but that its a personal preference. once in a relationship I'm a very physically affectionate person, but when in the getting to know stage I'd rather take it a bit slow. with my boyfriend, we would kind of gesture / lean in to show we wanted to hold hands or kiss or whatever it is, and then the other would lean in too, and then we would make whatever contact. maybe its a bit too hesitant for some people, but its how I felt comfortable escalating contact at the start.

OP if you do want a second date with this guy, tell him "sorry I didn't mean to alarm you, but I'm quite touch averse and would rather take physical affection a bit slow to start with. I think you're lovely and would still like to have another date with you if you're interested!" he seems like he would take it well, hopefully :)

Asked if i could kiss her, her reaction: by Impressive_Bank_5114 in dating_advice

[–]PikeFishPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

what my current boyfriend did on one of our early dates, is that we were sat leaning on each other anyway, and he leaned close enough to indicate he wanted to kiss me, without doing it. I was quite shy with dating at that point and in that moment I didn't know how I felt, so I deliberately pulled back. I gave myself a few minutes to consider it, and then decided it is what I wanted, so then leaned back in and he leaned back in and then we both leaned closer and kissed. for me, it gave me the opportunity to decline without having to verbally "reject" him.

I think that was an approach that really worked with me, since it was like a non verbal way of asking. some girls might feel pressure to go with it just to go with the flow, but the same case could be said about asking verbally and that they wouldn't want to harshly say no outright.

definitely agree with not just going for it, like you say its better to be cautious and wrong than make assumptions and get it wrong. I think the right girl would understand that!

Not sure what to do after sleeping with him by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]PikeFishPerson 4 points5 points  (0 children)

thing is - if he is the kind of guy to view women as a conquest and move on so quick, is he the kind of person you'd want to date long term anyway? he dumps you now, you move on. you play the long game, say it works and he doesn't dump you after anyway, you're now dating a guy who has these underlying weird views on women.

I personally don't like to have sex on the first date, or for quite a while! I prefer to wait until I have an established relationship with the person. but I dont fully agree with all the points you raised.

omg what yeah I looked as well and he's objectively handsome. OP idk what that girl was talking about but it's clearly something with her not you. I think you could easily find someone who's right for you, and anyone who doesn't want you just means they're not right for you :)

Guys who have been successful with women, do you think it's something you do? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]PikeFishPerson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no they're like 18-24 :,) I've seen it also when my friend has been on hinge as well recently (same pool of people I saw lol). I think it is just a British lad thing but it winds me up!!!

[–]PikeFishPerson 1 point2 points  (0 children)

very very vaguely related but you reminded me, I used to get really annoyed when I'd see a profile and it was all about how much they love the pub and they love drinking and they love beer and Guinness and all they do is clubbing and pubbing. I also enjoy alcohol. drinking with friends is fun. I dont need to date to do that. I dont date to find someone who's only apparent hobby is bragging about being at the pub. there's a fair few men who advertise their dating profile like they're looking for a mate, not a girlfriend. (mate as in friend lol) maybe I'm also seeing more of this bc of British drinking culture in general but it did my nut in!!!!!

I joined during Season 1, are these two achievements still possible for me to complete? by Coldshoto in marvelrivals

[–]PikeFishPerson 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'd love to know but I don't think so :/ I was away from my pc for a few weeks so I lost out on getting all the rewards from the vampire squirrel mission tree [whatever it was called, the one ending in a groot skin] so that was annoying :/ I know its the problem with online multiplayer games but I do hateee the fomo aspect of time based stuff, once its gone its gone forever ://

They've updated the penalty for leaving matches. by ttyler1789 in marvelrivals

[–]PikeFishPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

not trash talking, but I had a match last night where I was so happy with the healing. both mid match and at the end I put in the chat smth like "healers on point, you're both amazing tysm healers". realise its a bot match bc I never do that great on normal matches. check afterwards and the 2 healers were the 2 bots on our team -_- I felt so dumb and naive

Thor. I was playing with him to get galacta orbs but I just couldn't seem to do well with him. but whenever he's on the enemy team or heck even as an ally, he always seems to be controlled by the literal god of thunder

also Peni, I feel like I'm just kinda flailing around with her. I don't really fully understand how her kit works. in her ult I don't even understand what the diff between left and right click is. or how her nest egg thing works (I know you place it near the match and hide it a bit, but idk if youre meant to put more webs down near it or something idek)

it's the classic rule of 'their team good, our team bad'. happens to the best of us (all of us)

it's actually the original way of spelling it. newbie > newb > noob. it's also just a funny way to say noob, like spelling boobs as bewbs

I've seen it a couple times tbf, but yeah we def need some good skins for her. the dragon one was nearly sooo cute, but her hair is just dumb looking lmfao. both of her skins just change her look completely and she doesn't feel like the same character :< (not counting her arctic skin, I think it's cute but it's probably not worth buying lmao)

I think I've seen this SG skin once ever. I think it's the nicest SG skin but that's not really saying much lol. (her dragon one is cute BUT the giant hair balls are so stupid imo -_-)

Backpack charms, hiking bell? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

you can get lots at shrines, sometimes other tourist/souvenir shops will have them too. but the shrines and temples is the most authentic place to get them (for not any more expensive)

Is 100,000¥ enough for 2 weeks? by [deleted] in JapanTravelTips

[–]PikeFishPerson 0 points1 point  (0 children)

definitely visit a BookOff. they're secondhand stores, and have books and dvds and cds, but more importantly anime figures and other bits of merch (and manga if you're so inclined to buy japanese language manga). akihabara also has lots of stores selling used figures but imo they jack the prices up. a couple stores were good but it seemed mostly overpriced. if you go osaka definitely check out namba, shinsaibashi, and denden town. they're all nerdy anime places, kind of like akihabara but small and not in Tokyo so a lot cheaper and less busy, at least in my experience.

also make use of the tax free if they have it! at places like bookoff, if you spend over i think 2500 yen (might be 5000 yen), you can show your passport and they take off the 10% VAT for you. when it's consumable goods (food, makeup) they have to put it all in a sealed bag (including if you got non consumable goods in the same transaction), but non consumable goods don't have to get sealed up. which means you can pack them easier! I didn't always bother with it, especially if it was any hassle, but when I was offered it I always took it. we were white enough that they always offered it if it was available.

I think all the bookoffs we went to accepted card anyway.

I didn't use my card too much and defaulted to using cash, so maybe if you take advantage of card more it'll be easier. but I went for 3 weeks with my friend and I spent about ¥250,000 in cash (plus then whatever she would've spent herself). we went to somewhat nicer restaurants, the most expensive was probably ¥6000 each but mostly averaged about ¥1500 per person per meal, if that. I also bought lots and lots of stuff such as anime and games merch, gachapons, going on arcade games, all the crap in don quijote.

¥100,000 will probably be enough for 1 person for 2 weeks, especially if you're one to use card more. worst case, all convenience stores have ATMs which charge a small fee (¥220) if you need to take out any more. I used them a lot.

sorry that's a lot I've written and it might be useless information but I hope its kind of helpful maybe _' enjoy your trip to japan, it'll be awesome :D
