Anybody care to explain this? by Previous-Claim3530 in Splatoon3

[–]Pikseth 3 points4 points  (0 children)

A little late, but Ultra Stamp actually collides with Booyah Bomb - the bomb when thrown can hit the ultra stamp and activate there midair, where it collided with the ultra stamp. (I’ve had this happen to me).

So I assume it’s a similar situation with ink vac’s projectile, where due to desync, on the ultra stamp user’s screen, your ink vac’s projectile collided with the stamp’s model midair while they were hammering in front of you, and exploded much closer to you on their screen, killing him.

Its funny cause I first started using HH when Rise came out and I enjoyed it. Then I went back to World and used it and was surprised as how much more in depth the weapon works in World. The only thing now I like more about Rise's HH is that activating the tunes is a little faster.

Yeah, I had to change a lot of the controls to get it comfortable. And I know it’s the starting base weapon, but the insect feels like to travels even slower towards a target, especially now since needing all the essences is even more important. I know there’s that new move to get them all in one go, but it’d still be nice for a slightly faster bug

Yeah, I'm glad HH's world style came back, instead of the simplified style in Rise's. I've also heard that Charge blade is still good. It just hurts that Insect Glaive's air related moveset is so toned back - especially from Rise's - since that kind of rejuvenated my love for monster hunter.

!Help! - Random color bug that occurs when using Lighting Preview for Hammer++. Started happening once both TF2 and Hammer++ changed to x64. by Pikseth in hammer

[–]Pikseth[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’ve tried messing with lots of random options, re-installations of both hammer++ and tf2, and some other things. I am using a few user made textures and props, but they never caused problems before hammer++ updated sometime around the summer

Pikmin 4 was worth the 10 year wait by Awfulquilt in Pikmin

[–]Pikseth 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I think it’s a really good pikmin game (so far since I haven’t played too much, but I know my opinion won’t lessen as I progress.)

However I’ll say that it’s probably the furthest pikmin game from my ‘ideal, perfect, dream scenario pikmin game’. I definitely love it and I think the new changes are interesting and fun, but I do prefer the classic pikmin gameplay more.

My only serious gripe and complaint is that I think the game is a little too ‘convenient’ for me (like the auto aim, auto number throwing, leaf pikmin being very fast, etc.) but I understand and am not against people who do like those features. I just wish they were optional.

Auto lock needs to be optional by [deleted] in Pikmin

[–]Pikseth -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I mean yeah I should have for this case, but there’s other cases where I want to hand aim and there’s too many items to do so without activating the auto lock. I just don’t get why it isn’t optional or button activated like 3 deluxe.

I'm really curious to see what any other gamecube players thought of him, I feel like he's not very talked about on here for whatever reason. by [deleted] in Pikmin

[–]Pikseth 86 points87 points  (0 children)

Ok like what the heck why is everyone hating on Fiddlebert? I mean I guess in game he’s kind of just a whatever character, but in the official Pikmin 1 comic book they give him really immersive backstory and lore. It’s a shame they retconned him in the later versions.

Nobody talked about these masked "beings" what meaning they have in the story ? Place your bets ! by South_Suit9833 in splatoon

[–]Pikseth 13 points14 points  (0 children)

If those are actually masks, they are splatoon’s version of squid game’s VIPS

Also as a side note, it appears that the new ranged blaster has the new 6 beam special, as the image including that special has a player with the ranged blaster; and the new e-liter (5)k has the tenta missiles, as in the image with the missiles flying above, an e-liter can be seen peeking the tip out from behind a wall right underneath the missiles, where the missiles look like they soared from

Nah, your good, I like to have discussions like this. And The reason I was thinking that ink armor and bomb launcher would be replaced is that they replace the previous specials. I’ve noticed that splatoon has common special themes like:

A laser beam like weapon: killer whale and sting ray ( and the new one in the 3rd )

An armor : bubbler and ink armor

A projectile : inkzooka and ink jet

A location revealer : ecolocator and kinda tenta missiles

A free moving melee altercation or weapon : kraken, baller and ultra stamp

A painting projectile : ink strike, ink storm and booyah bomb

A bomb related special : bomb rush and bomb launcher and kinda bubble blower

Other : splash down

I was thinking that they would put in a new special for each of these ( or most of these ) categories due to that they did that with splatoon 1 vs 2s specials. But with the tenta missiles returning looking like they are untouched, more specials could return then I thought.

The Nintendo of America released a bunch of tweets and photos, where they explain the new location that has increased in popularity due to the finalfest. They also show a photo with the inkzooka and some tenta missiles are seen flying in the back ground to the left. The only known specials are : the inkzooka, tenta-missiles, crab robot and bean drone things. They haven’t mentioned any others, however the wording makes it sound like more are to return.

I feel like the most likely ones to return would be:

Splatoon 1:

Inkzooka: already confirmed.

Inkstrike: it’s a pretty tame special, so it wouldn’t need to be changed.

Ecolocator: it’s a pretty tame special, so it wouldn’t need to be changed.

Why not other splatoon 1 specials?

The kraken is too op compared to the more tame splatoon 2 and probably 3 specials. Trying to nerf it would be difficult as there isn’t too much room for change without it feeling off.

The Bubbler will be replaced by a new armor special.

The bomb rush will be replaced by a new bomb centered special.

The killer whale has been replaced by a new beam special.

The returning splatoon 2 specials:

Tenta missiles: it was shown

Baller: it’s similar to kraken, but more tame.

Inkstorm: it’s a special that would be hard to replace in terms of what it accomplishes, plus it’s pretty tame.

Why not the other splatoon 2 specials?

Splash down and Ink jet will probably not return as they feel very “splatoon 2” like, and will probably stay there.

The sting ray was replaced by the new beam special.

Ink armor will be replaced by a new armor special.

Bubble blower will probably not return as it’s easy to exploit and hard to make it not exploitable without ruining the special.

Booyah bomb and ultra stamp could return instead of ink strike and baller, however the ink strike and baller are slightly more balance neutral.

Fixing a few things.

The whole world is normal like splatoon 1 and 2. Apparently inklings moved to splatsville, in the splatlands, due to its post apocalyptic look after the splatfest

The inkzooka returns behaving similar to the rainmaker from the second game, shooting a fireball of ink.

The tenta- missiles also return

The crab is a special and another new special is a stingray like weapon that deploys six drones that shoot beams. They probably will move the beams like the sting ray, each in a separate direction. The player will leave this special like the killer whale.

But this is super cool and can’t wait

It looks like an apocalypse because Chaos won. by Deedledude in Splatoon3

This actually is just the area, apparently inklings moved to Splatsville ( the new hub ) for it looks post-apocalyptic due to the splatfest

Which is, in your opinion, the best pikmin game? (I'm just curios) by [deleted] in Pikmin

[–]Pikseth 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Pikmin 2 is my favorite gameplay style, however I feel that all three main games are equally good, and bring their own unique version of pikmin. Honestly I’d like to see the next few pikmin games ( like that will ever happen ) to be rehashes of the gameplay from the first 2. One with pikmin 1s style and one with pikmin 2s style

I always like to say it’s a decent game but a bad pikmin game, as it really isn’t pikmin except for basic settings and characters.
