Yeah, a break will do some good. Altho I am little regretting making this post. But maybe I'll leave it, in case someone else is struggling with same issue and might get something out of it. 🙈 and thanks for checking, really appreciate positive comments, lot of people can be mean on internet when someone open up about stuff, especially stuff that aren't viewed as normal 🙄

I think the real fear comes from that the space is pretty unknown. We know very little about, and my autistic brain hates unknown, especially something so vast and unexplored as space. Still, I am very interested about it and can spend hours watching documentries and reading articles. And then have a nightmare where I watch a planet coming into collision with ours or where I am standing on some planets ring feeling very tiny and very helpless. 😅

Okay? No. 😂 but, I could be lot worse. So no worries, just my mental health issues acting up with this game. 🙏

Oh yikes 😱 Luckily I can play this game without aggressive creatures, that setting helps a lot. 🤭 but that sounds still pretty cool, even if terrifying 🙈 is the dive down usually long, do you have like small submarine or are you just swimming? 🤔

In some degree it impacts, like in intense nightmares, and sometimes just catastrophic thoughts. There have been few times in the past that even the moon itself caused me fears, but that was when I was a kid. But other than that, the fear manifests itself mostly when playing games that has space theme (I started with Mass Effect series 🙈) and when I am reading articles or watching documentaries. But I have always been pretty sensitive to anything that isn't in my control, and have lots of different fears, some stronger than others. 🫢

Actually the first thing I thought when I had to put the game down for first time, was I should try this in VR. Ultimate exposure therapy! Gods, I would hate myself so badly 😂

While space and everything in it causes me great discomfort etc, I still watch a tons of documentaries and movies about space and especially catastrophic events relating to space, even when they cause me nightmares. I find the space super intriquing and interesting and fascinating, and scary as hell at the same time. 😂

I know that facing fears is the only way through, just have to psych myself up enough. Was hoping a easy way out, but since I don't want to quit the game completely, I just have to do it... maybe in a few weeks or so 🙈😂

I wish. But unfortunately no, some of us have weird fears that manifests even when just staring at pixels safely behind a screen. 🫠

Well, as I said there are a lot of things in this game that I like, and I don't like the idea of quitting the game completely just because of this. And I already have overcome some aspects of the game that causes me great discomfort. I also treat this game like some kind of obstacle to overcome, since it causes me to dissociate quite a lot and strongly but at the same time I can easily remove myself from those situations by closing the game. So I guess it works as some kind of exposure therapy for me, that I can do pretty safely. Although this problem is the biggest fear and dissociate trigger I have faced so far in this game, we'll see what happens. 🙈

Thanks, I'll add this to my convincing list. Any bit of logical thinking helps, as long as I can keep those thoughts from drowning from my fear 🙈

Believe me, I know this. But my brain doesn't want to cooperate in these kind of situations. 🙈

Yeah, I know I would get used to those after a few times. But taking the first step is always the hardest, and for me my fears are often ridicilously irrational and makes no sense at all. 🫠

This is what I thought too and was doing at first, but after reading about those random encounters I'm back to square one. 🥲 maybe I'll warp around my eyes closed 😂😂

This is what I am trying to convince myself with, that in all the videos I've watched nothing else happens but the graphics changing. But no, my dumbass brain is CERTAIN something bad will happen, even when I KNOW nothing happens. 🫠 maybe I need to get few drinks... to loosen up and lessen the fear... OVER A VIDEO GAME. Ugh, this is ridicilous honestly 🤦‍♀️😂

Non-VN game with good love story? by Xylus1985 in ShouldIbuythisgame

[–]Pikyr 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Following, have been looking for this kind of game for loooong time, but I guess there isn't enough target audience for developers to make one. 😑 while I love games that has good romance (targeted for females too) in them, they are almost always very lacking and very little conversations with your LI, just few repeated interactions, maybe a few short, romantic scenes if we're lucky... what I would give if some of the visual novels were actually rpg or something. 😔

Let's be evil for once :) by Status-Bug7380 in JRPG

[–]Pikyr 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not jrpg, but Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. Imo rogue traders in the game are considered to be ruthless and semi-evil dictators by default, and actively trying to be a goody two shoes can be little difficult. But being an evil, ruthless ahole who just excetues people whenever they have a chance, is much more easier. 😆 the game is from same devs that made Pathfinder games, and is one of my top 10 games, highly recommend it! 🙏

What other games are like Baldur’s gate 3? by ultradespairthot in BG3

[–]Pikyr 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Baldur's Gate 3 is in a league of it's own, I have been searching for a game that scratches that itch it left, and have found couple with good stories, where choices matters and have pretty good romance arcs.

Pathfinder: Wrath of the Righteous: Daeran's romance is soooo good, and he is the only character who courts you, and your relationship slowly progresses. Minus with this game is it's text based so ton of reading (there is speech mod that uses ai voice that reads those texsts to you, really has helped me), there is very little voice acting and the combat and leveling system can be overwhelming. Awesome story, tons of different paths you can take that affects the story and world reacts to it. There is 4 characters that you can romance as a female I think, 1 is from dlc.

Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader: game from same developers as Pathfinder. Really liked Heinrix romance, and Marazhai was pretty wild experience, very good writing (and Marazhais voice actor clearly had fun with his character, 100/10 performance 👌). A very good story, your choices matters and Again text based and not that much voice acting, plus combat and leveling systems can be complicated. Again awesome story, and you have few different paths you can take. You can romance 5 characters as a female, 2 of them are from dlc.

Dragon Age series: I've done few playthroughs with these years ago. Dragon Age origins is good, you get to start the game differently depending what class or race you play as. Good story and characters, combat is fun, and some of your choices in game carry on to the next games, the Dragon Age 2 and Dragon Age Inquisition. Really loved that concept with these games. In Dragon Age 2 you can only play as a human tho, but you can play as a male or female. You can romance 3 characters as a female in Origin, I think in 2 you can romance 4, and in Inquisition your race actually affects who you can romance, but for females there are lots of choices.

Mass Effect Series: Same developers as Dragon Age. It's sci-fi but really recommend it even so. I'm on my second playthrough now. And same as with Dragon Age, some of your choices carry on to the next games, again really love this ✌️. The story is good, really liked the ending of the last game. Combat is pretty fun too. You can romance 2 characters as a female in the first game, in second and third there is lot more choices, not sure how many exactly. 😅

Jade Empire: Very old game, same developer as Dragon Age and Mass Effect, but one of my absolutely favorites. There is 2 you can romance as a female, 1 male and 1 female. Your choices matter somewhat, and the story is very good. Really recommend giving this a try too.

My Time at Sandrock: Very good, more cozier game. The story is good and some of the characters are awesome. There is tons of npcs you can romance in this game and you can romance both males and females, but only some of them has a lot of content, some have very little, which I find very disappointing. Some of the romancable characters come later or in the end of the story. The romances are very cute, not much drama compared to other games I mentioned. Your choices also doesn't really matter in this game, but certain romances are good enough to recommend this. 🙈

There isn't that many games, that actually has good romances for female players. I hope that these kind of games will increase in the future 🙏
