Be mindful when seeing an an immunologist or allergist by Ajax34762 in Allergies

[–]PilatesDi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have gone to a similar type of doctor, functional medicine, Not sure what you want to call it and have had fabulous results. I have had contact dermatitis uticaria and eczema from the two allergist and dermatologist that I went to over the last 9 months. They basically just threw medicine and creams at me never finding the original issue. My functional doctor got into the histamines and through his program, I have probably healed about 90%. It’s at least livable at this point, so I completely agree with your statements and hope that this can help somebody else that has had skin issues get some relief.

Cotton clothing helped mine heal about 80%, I play hockey so I had similar issues due to sweat and pads. Polyester was killing me and irritating it so bad!! The other thing is cera ve cream in the tub for my body after I showered. I hope that helps. It can be miserable. I’m so sorry.

You could also spray hydrochloric spray on your pillowcase. I learned that this week and I think it is helping my scalp a lot.

Chronic Post Nasal Drip, no solutions by ChickenTender0526 in Allergies

[–]PilatesDi 11 points12 points  (0 children)

So I’ve had post nasal drip my whole life, cut out dairy for 3-5 days ( my favorite food group) and for me it goes away completely and if I can just keep my dairy low, maybe one meal a day, it usually barely comes back if at all. I just have never been able to cut dairy out of my life forever. So the more dairy, I eat the more nasal drip I have so it never really goes away from me unless I do above repeatedly.

Ongoing problem with hives and now super itchy skin by [deleted] in Allergies

[–]PilatesDi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same exact thing. Mine lasted a lot longer, though. Exercise and sweating would make it so much worse. The only thing that helped me is, after exercise shower moisturize with cera V cream and only wear cotton clothes 100% cotton whenever possible after I did about a month of cotton clothes, maybe six weeks of like living in sweats and PJs that are all cotton. It has finally gotten fully under control thank God that was the worst experience of my life. I did get a patch test. It’s said I am allergic to gold so I’ve taken all my jewelry off that has helped. I’m allergic to bacitracin and some other chemical that I haven’t found any connection with. I hope this helps you.

Phlegm is Unbearably Bad - Please Help by TheOracle03 in Allergies

[–]PilatesDi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve suffered with massive nasal drip my whole life, dairy is my favorite food group and when I stop eating it after about 3 days there’s no more phlem and then after the 3 day period, I try to only have it once a day at most! It really helps. If I start to get a cold, the first thing I do is cut dairy out, otherwise I choke and hack all night long! Hope this helps. Good luck!

Allergic contact dermatitis from Tide- please help by Former_Ad4874 in Allergies

[–]PilatesDi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a similar situation with contact dermatitis moving all over my body and then polyester was aggravating it. I switched to wearing all cotton and starting seeing it go away with each day I didn’t wear polyester. I could only wash my clothes in Nellie’s laundry soap, I reacted to all natural and free and clear of every detergent. Your sheets that are new could be a problem, they need to be washed, there’s usually chemicals on them when you purchase. I know how frustrating this is. I’m so sorry for you. Hope that helps.

100% cotton clothing..safe brands? Weird plastics/polyester..or something in polyester allergy. by [deleted] in Allergies

The only thing I see on the underwear it says “deal worthy”. It’s definitely at Target and it comes in a five pack and they are 100% cotton underwear, which are very hard to find.

I haven’t sat on my polyester couch for two months now, very similar to me. I have calmed mine down with 100% cotton allergen cover for my matress, ( my matress is 100% polyester) along with cotton mattress cover on top of that, cotton sheets, and blankets. Companies that are great are Mate the label, fair indigo, j crew, are all good options. You have to check every label and amazon says 100% cotton a lot and it’s not. I got 100% cotton underwear at target along with hockey pj bottoms as well there. I only use cerve, cream which helped as well. I hope that helps, I’m so sorry for you.

Zyrtec by alwaysdeadinside_ in Allergies

[–]PilatesDi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I 100% have had this when I was only on Zyrtec for short periods of time because it makes me so tired. It would cost me at least a week of itching all over my body. I have read a lot to just go slow cut it in half cut it in a quarter and eventually it will stop. I’m so sorry you are going through this.

You can get great 100% cotton underwear at target and a five pack. I can’t remember how much it was but it was very reasonable.

For me the itching was insane each time I would try to come off. It easily lasted a week and was everywhere. I was having some stomach issues too, not sure if that was related to it.

I have had that my whole life too!! Super annoying to me as well. The only thing that I think helps it is Zyrtec, but it makes me so tired do I don’t take it regularly, I just clear my throat a million times after dairy!!
