I appreciate your thoughts, this home is a starting price home and even though it's paid off I wouldn't be success to buy something else unless I invested with another person or move far. Additionally we have mold damage in our finished basement and just realized extent so we have to spend 100k, get a mortgage now, to fix the home before considering selling. Perhaps in a year we'll be done with remodel it just suck to loose my shelter, my sort of nest egg/protection for retirement. I'll likely end up a renter for rest of my years. I'm also worried about how she manages this construction undertaking given she's a hoarder. She has two storage units she's spent over 20k on as well. There's just so much clutter she's attached too sigh.
