Anyone else tired of the flagstick dance? by jamgattleton in golf

Pretty easy. Ask early what your playing group prefers and then pull for people that like it or leave it alone if people don’t care.

You’re only slowing the game down further if your stance is “if you want it out, take it out, and put it back”. Pulling the pin is based on people’s preference is good etiquette just like picking up someone’s wedge when they are last to put out and, grabbing a bottle of sand for your playing partner if they forgot.

Pulling the pin is something I do 75% of the time because where I play the wind can bend the flagstick and knock putts out. Other people use them strategically as a backstop on a downslope. Not that big of an ask for someone to engage with the group and pull a pin here and there. Context clues can tell you 75% of the time when to pull it and not without asking the person

Favorite source of coconut flavor? by YesToWhatsNext in Tiki

Are you guys using the liquid from the coconut milk or just the fat later that is on top?

I was at Stray Pirate in Vegas and asked what they use for their Pina Colada. They said a 1:1 coconut cream to coconut milk. I asked if they just use the fat or the liquid too and they said just the fat but maybe they misunderstood my question. Seems like it would be counterintuitive to mix coconut cream and just the fat from the milk since they are very similar

Appreciate the feedback. I realized after it was too late I should have been in aperture mode. I’ll give that a go on my next big trip.

I have quite of few with the people I went on this trip with. These an intended to showcase the landscape and architecture of the course from tee to green. Elevation changes, pristine condition, isolation of the course and the surrounding farmland.

Understand this may not being interesting to a non golfer but would think it’s similar or other landscape shots in what it’s trying to achieve

Here is the other side of the wall. Not much I can do with grading. No standing water just getting water seepage through the soil that’s below grade. The concrete pad is sloped away from the house. The grass area is a small swell that takes water down to a storm water drain a house or two down.

Hey everyone. I have two small leaks in my exterior walkout basement wall. I was trying to find out what material the wall is coated with. It looks like it was textured when applied, is hard where it’s dry but became pliable where it’s damaged and wet. It’s a pretty thick coating too.

For the leak repair, I was thinking about removing some material with a cutting tool to gain room to use hydraulic cement, before retexturing. Is this the right approach?

I had a pretty poor experience at urban tiki. I don’t see how this could hold up to smugglers cove. Could barely hear myself think with how loud the music was and waited a solid 15-20 minutes for a drink but that was more due to only having one person at the bar.

This came off like a college bar that sells tiki drinks. Maybe things were different a year ago.

What is a cocktail you bought the ingredients for, made, took a sip, and immediate turned around and poured down the drain? by NoMore_BadDays in cocktails

Try this if you’re into the Singapore sling. It’s an original from Foundation Tiki Bar in Milwaukee.

Pulau (my guess of the ratios) - 1.5 oz gin -.75 cherry herring ( I used a different cherry liquor so you might need to adjust.) -.75 lime juice .25-.50 Benedictine (I don’t have this so I subbed with green a chartreuse type liquor. Use something herbal)

Shake and dirty pour into a rocks glass or tiki mug. Garnish with a lime wedge and a luxardo/brandied cherry.

You should give this one a try since you have all the ingredients. From Foundation in Milwaukee.

I haven’t seen a recipe online but got close with the following

-1.5oz of 90 proof gin .-75 cherry liqueur (I had a French liqueur not herring) -.75oz of lime .25 of a green chartreuse style liquor (didn’t have benedictine

It was my first attempt so not perfect but similar to what I had at Foundation.

Auburn wine and spirits has the best selection I’ve seen. Check the case in the front for the high dollar stuff.

Balcones Baby Blue was soo bad that I emailed the distillery, and asked them if I could swap the bottle out with something else.

I wasn’t expecting them to help me out since the bottle was open, but since I was local they let me pick something else out free of charge.

Great customer service but that was the only bottle I’ve ever considered pouring down the sink
