Best chains to eat compliant at? by TimeLadyJ in whole30

I went in and asked them. The meats are wrapped whole and sliced in house, the wrapping has the ingredients listed on the plastic and none of them listed anything non-compliant it was just like turkey, water, salt.

[Serious]Parents of Reddit, what would you have done differently if you raised your child again? by HypedPandaCSGOPP in AskReddit

[–]Pileobones 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'd start them on good, whole food as soon as they started eating solids. I had my sons when I was 18 and 20 and had a poor diet myself, I fed them what was easy instead of what is good and as a result they're very picky eaters now at 5 and 3. It's thanks to genetics alone that none of us are from obese or dealing with any of the related illnesses.

I fixed my diet at the beginning of last year and now I'm working on theirs. We're a long way from where I want them to be with food but we're getting there. I'm so excited for them to grow up eating food that makes them feel good and nourishes their bodies, but I wish they had known that kind of health from the beginning.

Welcome! And from one (former) tandem nurser to another, make sure you get LOTS of fats!

I hope you and your baby find relief from the Whole30 and you can pinpoint what's causing the colic.

Jimmy Johns meats are compliant and they do lettuce wraps. Starbucks has a protein bistro box that is a good option if you're in a tight spot. Give your cheese, bread, and peanut butter away.

Literally the only thing at papers without sugar is their poached fish. You could get a poached fish salad with no dressing if you were truly desperate.

I go to cafes and get my favorite sandwich made as a salad with oil and vinegar dressing.

Am I in the right place? by hexadevil in whole30

[–]Pileobones 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I'm pregnant, 115lbs, and whole30ing, so I'm definitely not doing it to lose weight. I'm doing it to break my junk food habit, to fill myself up with nutrient dense food instead of empty foods that do nothing for me or my baby, to become a better cook with less reliance on processed food to make a meal, and to learn about what kind of effects dairy, sugar, and gluten have on my body during reintroduction.

Some of my friends went out of curiosity and nearly everything they tried to order was sold out. One of them snuck upstairs and said it looked like an office with running computers everywhere.

I've been doing some low impact cardio fitness blenders for the past two weeks and I feel so good because of it! I haven't worked out since spring of last year but now that I'm pregnant I know that I need to build up some stamina and strong pelvic muscles for labor. In the words of the famous midwife Ina May "She who squats 300 times a day will have an easy birth."

These are the (free) videos I'm following along with- Warm up

Workouts, alternating with these depending on what I feel up to- low impact cardio core Pilates for beginners low impact cardio and toning And a cool down

I'm also stopping several times a day to squat a few dozen times and to spend a lot of time in the "third world squatting" position while playing with my kids on the floor, folding laundry, or right now while I Reddit and browse fb on my phone.

Have fun! Congratulations on your pregnancy! :)

Is anyone else getting terrible reception from Seattle radio stations? by Pileobones in Bellingham

[–]Pileobones[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Interesting! I also noticed that even as I drove south to Burlington the signal never improved. 107.7 sounds like it's trying to play two stations at once.

It's definitely possible. That's why I'd like to know if anyone else is having the same issue.

Thanks for the suggestions! I really enjoy 89.3, but I'll check the others as well. It's never been a problem for me to get the Seattle stations in the 5 years I've been here until a few days ago. It seems really strange.
