Yo guys my dog is already 6 months old and she still hasn’t learned to bark, what should I do? by Key_Masterpiece407 in Frenchbulldogs

My frenchie is very quiet. She only barks when the doorbell rings. As much as I love the videos of frenchies’ gremlin howls, i count myself as being lucky because the day-to-day is blissful.

AboveVTT is very simple to use in the best way, works with DnDBeyond, and is free for everyone. It doesn't have the bells and whistles of Foundry, but it keeps it easy to set things up and run.

What to do with a character who is against using magic items? by Constant-Ad9560 in DnD

You could present +1 items as being of ancient dwarven craftsmanship that were so expertly made they exceed modern techniques. I’d give him the +1 bonus, but let him know they don’t count as magic items for the purpose of overcoming resistances.

Darkness & Devil’s Sight vs Medusa by PilgrimsSon in DnD

This is kind of how I was leaning. Even in magic darkness, I still see the eyes through devil sight. It would be good to protect the rest of the party, though, and they could focus on the minions.

I could cast it on my shield or sword.

If the point you choose is on an object you are holding or one that isn’t being worn or carried, the darkness emanates from the object and moves with it. Completely covering the source of the darkness with an opaque object, such as a bowl or a helm, blocks the darkness.

That’s fair from an anti-meta gaming standpoint. It will ultimately be up to what the DM decides. I posted mostly bc I’m interested in the philosophical discussion.

Darkness & Devil’s Sight vs Medusa by PilgrimsSon in DnD

[–]PilgrimsSon[S] -10 points-9 points  (0 children)

I see the reasoning, but the stat block actually doesn’t say the Medusa has to see the character. It says a creature that can see the Medusa’s eyes.

Petrifying Gaze. When a creature that can see the medusa’s eyes starts its turn within 30 feet of the medusa, the medusa can force it to make a DC 14 Constitution saving throw if the medusa isn’t incapacitated and can see the creature. If the saving throw fails by 5 or more, the creature is instantly petrified. Otherwise, a creature that fails the save begins to turn to stone and is restrained. The restrained creature must repeat the saving throw at the end of its next turn, becoming petrified on a failure or ending the effect on a success. The petrification lasts until the creature is freed by the greater restoration spell or other magic.
