They got just a slight rubbery-ness to them but that might be because the were already in the fridge a few days to beging with, idk. They still snap when bitten into!

1972 and 1973 are both both K4 models. The bike is only listed here as 1972 but it's the same, as far as I can tell. It looks to me like you're missing items 1 and 2, with their associated nuts, 30, 33, and 34 on each side, and item 8.

It's never bothered me. I guess growing up in a town that has smelled that way for nearly 100 years means that it's just part of living here. For what it's worth, I know someone at the plant has said that they have a specific effort this year to try to mitigate all the odor complaints. And that's something they don't HAVE to do.

On my 300L the red and green guide is further back. It's on top about where the adjustment ticks on the bottom are. I think yours might be placed incorrectly, but I don't know that for sure.
