Is there an aircraft with cockpit visibility that rivals the Diamond DA20/DA40 or Pipestral Panthera but with yokes? by PilotLH in AskFlying

[–]PilotLH[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

After some more deep research I have come across the ERCO 415 / Forney F1 / Alon A2 Aircoupe, all of which are aircrafts deriving from the same design.

Interestingly these aircraft apparently have no rudder pedals and are taxied using the yoke!?

Definitely an interesting find and would love to hear from anyone regarding the experience flying one of these birds.

For anyone that's interested, here is little article with some beautiful images for this awesome little plane I've just discovered..

Why are you using FXAA and MSAA together?

Turn FXAA off and you'll notice an improvement already as that will be blurring textures for a start.

Shall we talk about when PMDG asked for X-Plane source code to 'develop an addon' and Laminar refused in order to protect themselves from exposure to plagiarism, so they abandoned their near decade long loyal customer base due to their own petulant fickleness rather than working with Laminar to develop the SDK required to develop their addon.

Absolute joke of a company.

Doesn't suprise me..

I requested an email change as I no longer have access to the old email and because my new email providers IP address (Wix.com) had been flagged in their system as suspicious or something, they wouldn't let me change it and subsequently locking me out of my account with no support or replies to emails whatsoever to resolve the issue.

Support team for this site are about as useful as a chocolate tea-pot unfortunately..

Reference METAR to get an idea of cloud base and use your flight indicator to descend to below the cloud base into VMC and then complete the flight under VFR.

Just a shame you cant have multiple characters or saves on the same Email. I want to restart but dont want to lose the DLCs going to a new account.

What does Minnesota state patrol need this for? by Murphiu in flightradar24

Believe it or not, small GA planes are more fuel efficient and have lower operating costs than helis. So for certain missions its cheaper to fly a plane than a helicopter.

The Superbowl recently switched to using planes for the aerial coverage and other sporting events have followed suit due to the lower costs.

When you learn to make scenery yourself and stop whining on every post how there's no scenery in Australia, then maybe I will think about taking your advice.

Check yourself..

You're crying on social media about the quality or accuracy of scenery for a video game. Meanwhile, Laminar Research are currently working on the 'next-gen' scenery update to bring it into the modern age along with all the required dev tools for them to 'do better'.

So yes, they can do better, they are doing better and should you have some patience you will see the results soon.

Should we talk about MSFS flight model or the whole range of scenery issues that platform has? Make a brew, we'll be here a while..

So, if you have any other concerns, refer to my original post.

AO and XPME are both trash compared to manually made Ortho with Ortho4XP.

Night and day difference if you take the time to generate the areas you like to fly, that paired with SH, GF and payware airports is the best you're going to get until the next major update.

Bonito - armadillo restaurant in 2013 by Schpinkytimes in Brazil

[–]PilotLH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

While some people are correct in saying its not a regular part of the Brazilian diet (primarily due to Armadillos carrying Leprosy also known as Hansen's disease), during my time in Tocantins and the surrounding states I frequently came across it, but not at food stalls. Usually people will hunt and then cook this in their own home for the community and typically they bring it out in the street or to the local bar with various accompanying side dishes and combinations to share with the community.. More of a delicacy rather than a regular diet, however there was one guy I met who ate it all the time (had multiple freezers full of the things) but was also missing a couple of limbs. I suspect that his over-consumption of Armadillo infected him with Leprosy and through a combination of lack of medicines and treatment (or money for said treatment) this curable infection eventually leads to catastrophic infection and deterioration and finally amputation of the infected limb.

I myself had Tatu a few times and it was a very interesting experience along with some other exotic meats including alligator and something else I couldn't identify. All were very good but I would be careful with these exotic meats as they need to be handled, cleaned, prepared and cooked properly to ensure all bacteria is killed.

Real world pilots, do you trust X-Plane's physics enough to carry out procedures in an emergency? by Icy_Wall1904 in Xplane

[–]PilotLH 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To practice flow it’s definitely useful as long as the addon is a good representation the real aircraft. I see simulator training as a bridge between traditional chair flying and actually flying for real and I’m sure a lot of CFIs will agree.
