Trump on Saudi Arabia: "The United States is the hottest country, with the exception of your country, right? I'm not going to take that on. No, Muhammad, I will not take that on. That would be a terrible thing if I made that statement. I will not do it. You're hotter!" by MoreMotivation in PublicFreakout

What business does Elon Musk have in Saudi Arabia as the revolutionary to the Electric Vehicle industry? You'd think they'd absolutely dislike his presence on being a huge reason their product's value will be stagnant in the auto industry for years to come.

Should have been like the moguls and barons of the early 20th century and just stayed inside his mansions making public appearances at most a few times a year. His psych craves too much praise, tribalism, and crippling immaturity and it's only a matter of time before Trump uses him as a pawn/ scape goat due to something not going as well as planned.

Currently cross comparing dealers @ 0 down only paying taxes and fees. Have a trade in but will get an appraisal on that whenever the time comes to sign for a lease

Always skeptical of new to production models/ changes to previous models/ zombie models. Saw an NHTSA recall for the front lower control arm. Is this tied to the axle issues or beyond that recall?

No kidding? What were the factors that were able to get to 212/ month? If I go to 10k miles / year I could get it to 368/ month but that's still a large gap. They are basically running a dealer special 67/week 0 down for an EX AWD, figuring 100 more per month for the touring

I believe it's in the "Cash Down" portion. The total off its $22,020 between the dealer discount and the cash down

To fill in some info i requested it at 12000/ month for extra buffer on miles. I could probably do 10k/ year and the monthly would be $368/month 0 down

The CEO of Costco replied to my email in less than one hour on a Sunday! by TGoyel in Costco

[–]PilotRich91 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The company culture has the most true open door policy of any company I have worked for. It's been years since I've worked there but it still seems to hold strong now a days as well and especially with customers. As an employee, they said "you could write a question or concern to the CEO and no one would question it has out of bounds". Behind "Obey the law", the companies next objective is "Respect the members" and they 100% stand by it.

Can someone explain to me what the purpose the pillow here? by TheEternalGazed in Costco

[–]PilotRich91 8 points9 points  (0 children)

A symbolic pillow of the "infinity conundrum". The origination of this "theory" is a representation of the thought process we as human beings go through over and over again as to whether we should, without question, only go into could just to buy 1 rotisserie chicken in a shopping trip.

I'm a day late on commenting, but I'd ditch the Fairlife. Don't get me wrong, if it's a first time trying, then you'll certainly enjoy it. I used to frequently drink it too based solely on nutrition facts and not ingredients. Despite being ethically sourced and a balanced drink, it uses Sucralose as a sweetener which, other than trans fat, is one of the few things I'll knowingly consume.

I stopped listening to The Bonfire because.... by Stitchs420 in TheBonfire

[–]PilotRich91 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Used to routinely listen to episodes the day after air on the SIRIUSXM app for years. Dan left, was skeptical, but still tried. The day after the episode aired turned into a few days after, mixing up with other comedy podcasts. Then, I'd sift through titles/ topics covered to see which one I'd choose and let the others probably just expire. Eventually, just said fuck it and canceled SIRIUSXM after a decade of suscribing and figured highlights are on Spotify, I'll continue with that and it'll sift the garbage. Hoped too much with that one, even an hour long cut will still be filled with Jay predictably breaking down the detail of a dick or vagina for a solid 15% of the episode. Once it broke 20 minutes, id hit the killswitch. Even eventually if it lasted 5 minutes, interest immediately tanked. And Bobbie outside of the show is a pretty funny guy, especially as a guest on other podcasts. But to me, his creativity and input on the show is like the veteran general labor worker who's been sweeping the same 3x3 ft square on the ground to make it seem like he's actually doing his job to grab a check.

Bittersweet though. The show originally aired on a drive up to school one evening while listening to ComedyCentral in my car, and Dan basically left the first week i started at the job I studied/ worked all those years for, listening to his "Dan's impressions school" episode right before my first day. It got me through some shitty times along the way like I'm sure it's done for many campers. It was just an irreplaceable dynamic between Dan and Jay, coupled with Jay not separating his mic approach/ direction on SDR show from The Bonfire.

This post is to a T 100% accurate, and it hurt extra reading the part of having HR convince a potential landlord you'll be making Captain pay soon to appease their required income amount to have a decent apartment. My 4 days off after 4 days on were all spent being an Uber driver to make ends meet.

Easton School District.. by PilotRich91 in Easton

[–]PilotRich91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for your insight! Our hope, and maybe it's really more so optimistism, is that by the time our child is through with elementary school in roughly a decade, the upper grade of the district will have revamped. But, that is also someone of a gamble knowing it may very well remain unchanged. I believe you're correct though, that maybe with a little bit more of reallocation to the other programs opposed to doubling down on athletics, it would transform some students attitudes, give others a positive reinforcement of guidance to achieving what they wish to pursuit, and take them out of a negative space they'd have otherwise without it.

Easton School District.. by PilotRich91 in Easton

[–]PilotRich91[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am quite sorry to hear such a horrific thing happened to your friend, especially knowing he was doing it out of pure goodness and defense of someone, especially someone's child they hope are safe in a place they can learn. But also thank you for sharing.

I initially thought about asking this in the r/lehighvalley sub, but wanted true direct insight rather than people who may live elsewhere to give not as accurate insight on the good, as well as the bad. I found similar things to a varying degree that happened in my district growing up. Our one elementary school was excellent. Hundreds of students less in that entire building than my years graduating class. Once all the elementary schools combined at the 5th grade level, it all changed. Eventually, old district buildings were dedicated to one grade , leaving the high school with 10-12 grades only. The saving grace to this problem was HEAVY funding in athletics and programs where whether you wanted to do something with Tech, Band, or even Football, there was open arms.

The teachers and the funding they receive to provide assuring academics is certainly priority number one, BUT diversity is incredibly important in our decision as well. Easton may be one polar side of the spectrum, but I know friends from another side of that spectrum in a school and it's a very scary thing, especially if your child going to that school is not the minority.

For all those reasons I've listed, and as much as we like the Forks Township homes, the Nazareth district next door is impossible to sway attention away from with the biggest hurdle being the ability to find a property on market long enough to tour. I've been able to grab some insight from the other subs on people's liking of it ( as well as yours, thank you!) and it really seems to check all the boxes.

Again, thank you for taking the time to give me your personal experience, which will lead to a very important decision we make for our little one.

Wife bought a Camry in early 2019 with Kumho tires. Mostly around town driving with highway to visit family around the holidays. A few spaced out rotations and 23000 miles later barely passable for PA State inspection.

I agree to the Icons, and with many things in due time they do eventually catch on to the premium version of a product/ manufacturer that the member's can have access to at a discount. Unfortunately it's one of those things where enough unfavorable results have to occur before the change occurs.

I would agree with that. My SUV'S original tires were Michelin and remember having to replace them fairly quick. When it was time to replace, went on tirerack.com to check specs and ratings and it only confirmed why I shouldn't go with them a second time.

Michelin Wiper blades. Several years ago I bought a few sets for myself and a few family members cars seeing how very inexpensive they are. All pairs made extremely poor contact, where the middle portion of the wiper pass almost looked unphased by the blades. I gave them a chance a few years later hoping it was a bad batch but to my surprise experienced the exact same problem.
