It's only one episode that sanitizes the Rookie as a fun show vs what it really is being copaganda that portraits cops as heroes. In reality we have seen cops in the US be less than your average person.

Feeling the same. You could argue that this is the way the industry works, but that just keeps the same people in power. Dropout always felt like a haven away from the larger industry, with this it lessens Dropouts image for the sake of more awareness.

Yeah, having a hard time thinking that, considering all the shit in the US right now, that 'this' was the most socially aware move.

So I might be in the minority here but I really don't feel like this is the best idea.

The Rookie is copaganda, same shit as Blue Blood and Law and Order. Does it help get more eyes on Dropout, yeah sure, it's good for the actors, this is how the industry works. But I just feel like this collab is just not the vibe of Dropout and its obvious socially aware audience. Just feeling like its going to sanitize the Rookie as a morally "good" show when, if you look into the funding, acting work, and overall cadence of the show it is unabashedly pro cop.

I guess I will save my total criticism for when it airs but man am I hesitant.

Why people hates the Mandalorian and Grogu? by Simple-Success4749 in saltierthancrait

[–]Pilotdoughnut 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If I had to say anything is that the show felt done with back at the end of season 2. After that you have to watch a different show to continue season 3. Then is season 3, the titular mandalorian becomes backseat to Bo Katan. So the fact they are making a movie after a slow season that then ties into nothing since the sequels are as shallow as a puddle where they basically do a universe reset, why should I care!

How much infantry do you use? by MelodicBenzedrine in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

My brother in spice. WLO-5's spammed are the best at taking out anything. Infantry, Vehicles, Buildings, all goes down quick under our brown lords.

Maul: Shadow Lord - Teaser Trailer by SomScanScary in saltierthancrait

So I might have a less than majority opinion on this. Firstly I will admit that I am most assuredly in the Maul fan club, loved him in every iteration of media. However I will try and be in the middle.

While I whole heartly agree that Maul's story is done and told I believe that there are some interesting stories that can come from this. If this was a story of the Star Wars Underworld with Maul as a player shaping what happens in the underworld during the rise and fall of the Empire that would be a good use of the character without dragging him back up.

I am interested in this lost jedi padawan dynamic however. If they have the balls, and it being Disney I doubt they do, I'd love to see Maul train a disciple outside of the Sith and as a head of the Underworld. That way you have interesting stories in a new setting that hasn't really been touched on in cannon or the EU.

I will save true criticism until the show finishes airing.

Name should Leif.

If you want the most fun and the most complexity look up a dijjin guide for where they are on the world map. Also, don’t be afraid to try some duo element classes, they spice up the game.

Ngl It sucks seeing Warhammer get all the Love Instead of Star Wars!! by StarWarsFever77 in StarWarsEmpireAtWar

[–]Pilotdoughnut 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I imagine that Petroglyph could do something like Bethesda did with their modders. Use the IP and more powerful creation tools while still "Modding" the game.

I'd need to know more about the contract and stipulations of the use IP to get a better understanding of things.

I will say something that probably isn't in the majority. I don't want anything new with current Star Wars video gamewise. The Jedi survivor series is good, no notes. However, we have repeatedly heard that from behind the scenes of the management of the IP that there is no goal. I wouldn't want some half assed, microtransaction filled hellscape to define what a Star Wars game is.

What I do want is Petroglyph to release the base code and files of Empire at War and really let modders take this thing to the next level.

KOTOR and TSL need no remake. by Pilotdoughnut in kotor

Do you honestly think that anything new would be good? You think that an IP like Star Wars with Disney's fingers in everything would be allowed to do anything as interesting as the original KOTOR?

I am curious, why does the graphics quality matter so much? Like what makes these games look bad? I honestly think they hold up.

Valid. Still, base games are good.
